It was another rotten day. With no job, no food, and dirty clothes, Dragonxx5 was down on her luck. 'Maybe I should just give up.' She thought. 'Maybe I should just..end it.' Her gaze lifted to the cloudy sky as she sat there, leaning against the building. Maybe today was the day she would finally do it. Maybe today was the day she would just..die. Slowly she stood, feeling the ache of sleeping in the street. Maybe she would take one last look around the city. Maybe, just maybe she would find some hope in the bottom of that box of despair. Or perhaps the demons would consume her.Dragonxx5 began her walk down the street; there was trash everywhere, and the cloudy day made the dank buildings look even darker. A heavy sigh left her as she continued on. The same old things, the same old sadness, the same old hopelessness. It was looking like she wouldn't find her hope afterall. But something pulled her out of her dark thoughts; a little butterfly. Dragonxx5 blinked a few times and stared at it as it flittered on. "How lovely.." A smile came upon her face as she watched it. Dragonxx5 was about to continue on but another butterfly passed by, and then a third. For a moment two paths lay before her. She could either continue on the same dank path she always walked, or she could take a turn and follow the butterflies. After some thought she made her decision and turned left, walking down the narrow path. It went between some buildings before ending at a courtyard between two buildings. It was dirty and filled with garbage. Dragonxx5 felt disappointment tug at her heart and she sighed; the butterflies had been a dead end. She began to walk off when a strange noise stopped her in her tracks. She blinked several times and looked around, wondering what it was when she heard it a second time: crying! It was weak and small, but she knew she heard it. A little lost cry. Dragonxx5 pulled her hands out of her jeans pockets and jogged over to the courtyard, moving an old and dented trash can out of the way. She stepped in and looked around, but all she saw was trash and dead grass. She stayed perfectly still and didn't so much as breath as she waited for the sound to come to her again. And it did, very faintly from the corner. Dragonxx5 turned and quickly ran towards the tiny sound, her heart racing as she stared at the pile of garbage. "Where are you?! Come on, speak to me! Are you okay?" By now Dragonxx5's concern had grown tremendously, and in answer to her she heard the little noise coming from the garbage. Dragonxx5 began to fevertly dig at the trash, ripping away old papers and discarded electronics with wide eyes. She had to find it, the source of the noise. She had to help it. It took quite a while, but after moving a rather heavy tv Dragonxx5 had moved enough garbage to find an opening hidden there. The butterflies were gathered around it, and some grass was sprouted up around it through old cans and wadded papers. Dragonxx5 heard the noise more clearly now, but it was still very weak and quiet. Slowly she kneeled to peer into the opening but she could see nothing. Dragonxx5 felt fear rise up in her. 'What am I doing?' She thought. 'It could be something dangerous. If I reach my hand in, it might bite my hand off!' At the thought she gulped loudly and grabbed her wrist in fear. 'But..it might be hurt, whatever it is...' After taking a few deep breaths Dragonxx5 swallowed her fear and reached forward into the dark opening, feeling around. She was a bit startled when she felt something move under her hand, but she didn't feel the pain of teeth or claws. Dragonxx5 scooted forward and reached her other hand inside and took a firm hold of the creature with both hands and carefully pulled it out. What she found shocked her: in her arms was a newly born glad legeica. It couldn't have been more than half a day old...it was small and fragile, and had a greyish color to it. It looked like it was weak and withering, like no one was taking care of it. Dragonxx5 looked around; she hadn't seen any legecias or people around. All she had seen were the butterflies, which were attracted to the faint sweet scent it was giving off. The young legecia opened it's deep violet eyes half-way and stared up at her with such a sad and tired face. Dragonxx5's heart broke at the sight. The poor thing was withering and dying, and no one was taking care of it. The small flowers dotting it's body were just buds, but they were withered and dry. Tears formed in Dragonxx5's eyes and began to stream down her face as she held the small legecia against her. "Don't worry, I'll take care of you. You're not alone anymore." Dragonxx5 paused and gently tightened her arms around the small creature. "No, I mean..we're not alone anymore." After finding the neglected legecia Dragonxx5 hurried as fast as she could to the nearest vet. She spent the rest of the day there with the creature as the vet examined her. They decided she needed to stay overnight and asked Dragonxx5 to leave at closing time. But she was so worried about the little glade legecia that she slept outside the vet's office that night. The next morning the sound of the bell ringing when they opened the doors woke Dragonxx5. She stirred and quickly stood, feeling alert very quickly as she walked up to the door. "H-how is it?" The receptionist smiled at Dragonxx5 while setting down her pen. "Your legecia is doing fine. She's recovering quite nicely. If you'd like we can return her to you now." Dragonxx5 stared at the receptionist and a warm feeling welled up inside of her. "My legecia..? And it's a girl?" She couldn't contain the smile that was spreading on her face; Dragonxx5 had never had a pet before. "Yes, unless..she isn't yours?" The smile dropped off Dragonxx5's face at the question and she blinked. "Uh, well. I found her yesterday in a bunch of trash. I didn't see anyone there, and I didn't see any signs of other legecias either..." The receptionist thought for a few moments. "Well, if she was abandoned or a stray, then maybe you should take her." Dragonxx5's eyes widened. "Me? But I.." She dropped her gaze, staring down at her dirty clothes. "I can't take care of her..I don't have a job, or a home.." Dragonxx5 could feel her heart being crushed, knowing that she couldn't have the legecia she had found. Tears began to form and she quickly reached up to wipe at her face. The receptionist stood and walked over to Dragonxx5, handing her a clipboard with papers on them while setting her hand on her shoulder. "We need someone to help out around here. Why don't you fill out this paperwork and we can talk about it when you're finished?" Dragonxx5 looked up at the woman, clutching the clipboard tightly in her hands. Tears cascaded in unstoppable waves down her face as she tried to speak. "Th-thank y-you.." The receptionist smiled before gently pushing on Dragonxx5's back. "Go on, I know you want to see her."Dragonxx5 hurried to the room she had been directed to and entered, seeing the doctor turn and smile at her. "She's doing much better now. I'll leave you to fill out that paperwork." The doctor smiled and turned to head out the door, shutting it gently behind him. Dragonxx5 stared at the examination table before walking over to it. The baby legecia was laying on it and when it saw Dragonxx5 it made a happy little sound. It was looking much better: the grey color had been replaced with a yellowish-green, and she didn't look all dried out. But it did still look quite tired. Dragonxx5 smiled and reached out a hand to the creature, watching as it sniffed her. Afterwards she retracted her hand and looked down at her paperwork, looking at the questions. The first one was name of pet. "Name..." Dragonxx5 looked at the small legecia and smiled, feeling her heart swell as it looked up at her expectantly. She reached a hand out and affectionately pet the glade legecia on the top of the head, watching as it rubbed against her hand. "Your name will be Naveen, beautiful. Because that's exactly what you are."Over the next several months, Dragonxx5 worked hard at the vet's. She cleaned, helped take care of the pets staying there, anything she was asked to do. Her and Naveen slept in the back together and quickly became inseperable friends. Naveen had recovered quickly and was a thriving example of a glade legecia. Dragonxx5 used the money she earned to take care of Naveen and was gradually paying off her vet bill. She taught Naveen everything; how to walk, what to eat, potty trained her, everything. They were never seen apart. Eventually Dragonxx5 earned enough money to start her own shop and get her own place where she lives with Naveen, Dahmieen, Adriene, Zodiacies and Pachuan.
