Fredrich never intended on becoming a thief. In fact- he was always an especially well-behaved little pup when compared to his siblings, watching after his brothers and sisters and always obeying his mother's orders to never stray too far from the family's woodland den. Being so small in size compared to his brothers, Fredrich was never one to roughhouse and preferred to nap with his sisters or test his speed chasing ever-elusive butterflies.

All was calm until one day his mother suddenly became sick with a mysterious illness.

Within weeks she became very frail; her strength was waning and it became clear that she could no longer hunt and fend for her three dear puppies. None of her pups were large enough to hunt for their own food, and foraging wasn't practical by any means as the local food supply would surely wear out eventually. Someone had to take responsibility- and that someone quickly became cunning little Fredrich.

Fred ventures off on his own often- stealing fruits and veggies from any place he can find them. Meat would obviously be preferable, but you can't really expect a puppy to hunt on his own now, can you? On an especially lucky day Fred can manage to scavenge some meat from leftover carcasses or Butcher Shop trash bins. When meat isn't a realistic option fruit stands, private gardens, and vegetable stockpiles of other Subeta pets become fair game for this mischievous little Telenine pup.

On the rare occasions Fred gets caught in the act- he makes a both wonderful and convincing actor. Few Subetans can be angry for long once they see his fluffy tail dip down between his legs and his large eyes well up with tears as he begs "B-b-but please ma'am, it's only a few carrots for my sisters...". A few crocodile tears and most foolish Subetans let the thief off without punishment. Although Fredrich was raised to be an honest, obedient pup, it's taken him a surprisingly short amount of time to get the hang of deception, stealing, and begging. After all, his speed comes in handy when it comes to making a stealthy getaway.

Although he steals with good intent, Fred can understand why most people aren't too happy about being robbed for any reason. Because of this he's careful to switch up his routine often and visit different areas of Subeta as often as he can; then when he spots an easy target he stuffs as many fruits and veggies as he can into his little satchel before darting off.

Family comes above all else for Fred and he'll do what it takes to make sure his mother and hungry siblings are well-fed. Because of his determination most local fruit stand owners have learned the hard way not to turn their backs for even a moment or else their ripest, juiciest fruits might make their way into Fred's little satchel.
