So, you single handedly destroyed your darling big brother’s wedding. He has kicked you out of your Best Mare position, and with hurt filling his voice has told you to not even show up at the wedding at all. You thought you knew. You thought you had it right…

Your friends have abandoned you in favor of her. Even your mentor, who has practically raised you, has turned her back on you. You sit on the steps that the lovely couple is going to say their vows on, sobbing at your own idiocy. Maybe it was all you… You had imagined the whole “mind control” thing because you were just so jealous of her… You just wanted your big brother back… And now he doesn’t even want to talk to you.

You hear hoofsteps coming towards you. It’s her. She looks at you tenderly and begins to stroke your hair like she used to when she foal-sat you.

“I’m sorry!” You choke out through your tears.

Her face splits into an evil grimace. “You will be.”



Suddenly you’re in… an underground cave? You look around worriedly.

“Hello? Is anyone there?” You call out nervously. You were right. You were right all along. Your brother’s bride-to-be is evil. How could you have let your guard down so easily?!

You begin to walk through the caves, bumping into your own reflection in one of the stones. It’s so hard to see by only the light of your horn… You start to hear maniacal laughter echoing through the caves.

“Where am I?” You ask no one in particular. You’re feeling so, so scared and nervous. Where did she send you? What’s going to happen to you?

“The caves beneath Canterlot, once home to greedy unicorns who wanted to claim the gems that could be found inside.” Her face appears on all of the shiny, mirror-like surfaces of the stone… or gem, as it seemed.

“And now your prison.”

“Help!” You cry out, running away. She laughs at your futile attempt.

“It’s no use. No one can hear you. And no one will ever think to look for you either.” She’s appearing all around you now, that evil and triumphant smirk all over her face.

“Most ponies have forgotten that these caves even exist. Which is why they are the ideal place to keep the ones who try to interfere with my plans.” She laughs at the word ‘plans’. Now you’re worried. It’s not just about you anymore.

“Plans? What plans?” You meekly ask.

“The plans I have for your brother of course.” She looks concerned for you, as if it is a pity you didn’t know. This sparks anger in you. You don’t care about the way he talked to you back at the wedding rehearsal. You just want him safe.

“Don’t you dare do anything to my brother, you-“ All of your magical power is charging up to your horn. “You monster!” She doesn't seem at all threatened by you.

“The only way to stop me is to catch me!” She gloats happily and laughs, beginning to appear on all of the gems’ surfaces.

“Over here!”

You fire your magic, but it only bounces off the surface of the gems. You quickly duck and cover your head with your hooves, getting out of the way of the beam.

“Nope! Over here!” She’s still appearing everywhere! You just can’t do it…

But, you think of your brother. You’re not the one ruining his special day, she is! You begin to fire at will, breaking the gems so she can’t appear there anymore. She laughs while you fire away and then… You break the final one! The one she’s hiding behind!

She looks ruffled, and surprised at your sudden entrance. You gear up to snap her in half.

“No! Wait!” She cries out, shaking her hooves at you. She does look scared, but you don't care. It’s probably just a ploy to throw you off guard! So you tackle her anyway.

“Please! Don’t hurt me…” She’s shaking underneath you, a hoof over her face. Her eyes widen in sudden recognition. “Twilight, it’s me!” You give her an incredulous look.

“You have to believe me! I’ve been imprisoned, like you! The Cadence who brought you down here was an impostor.”

“Likely story!” You snap, glaring down at her. Of course she would say that now that you’ve caught her! Anyone that messes with your brother is going to have a thing or two coming for them…

“Sunshine, sunshine,” She begins to pick up her hooves in a little jig and your eyes widen. She seems sad, but she continues. “Lady bugs awake. Clap your hooves-“ You both hit each other’s hooves, and finish the last line together.

“And do a little shake.”

She turns around and gives you the most earnest grin you have ever seen. You return the grin with a huge smile of your own.

“You remember me!” You fling yourself into her waiting arms. It feels so good to feel her embrace again, especially now that you know she’s not an evil and scheming witch.

“Of course I do.” She says kindly, simply holding you in her arms. “How could I forget the filly I loved to sit for the most?” She asks. This is the Cadence you know. The kind and loving Cadence who would do anything to make others happy.

The imposter’s laugh interrupts your moment. Cadence looks longingly back the way you came. There’s a sparkle, from light getting into the caves. It shines right into Cadence’s eyes.

“We have to get out of here.” You state before running ahead. She nods. “We have to stop her!”

Cadence runs in front of you, leading the way to the glimmer she saw. The imposter’s laugh continues to echo throughout the caves.

You just have to get Cadence to the wedding in time. Before she loses her husband to the wrong mare! And before you lose a brother…
