Lobotomy, also known as leucotomy, is a neurosurgical operation that involves severing connections in the brain's prefrontal lobe. It consists of cutting or scraping away most of the connections to and from the prefrontal cortex, the anterior part of the frontal lobes of the brain, and was once a popular form of psychosurgery.
Now, who was the next lucky patient?
Ah, Mr. Richardson! Oh, wasn't he a fun one! Such a naughty patient he was, why a surgery would do him so much good.
What did he do? What didn't he do would be an easier question to answer, haha! You see, Mr. Richardson, or Ted as everyone here calls him, is a very horrible man. Now their are many horrible men of course, but on a scale of one to ten, Ted is probably an eleven.
You see, Ted likes women a lot - and while that alone is not a crime, Ted often ends up with blood on his hands from the women he craves.
In therapy (you didn't hear this from me of course, patient confidentiality!), he admitted such horrible, atrocious things! All while grinning, as though just recalling these events made him giddy. Things that I will never ever repeat, but lets just say this man was a lost cause. Trust me.
There are some that come to me who aren't of course, people who just have behavioral disorders or a tick - even some who are just trying to deal with some emotional trauma - but no matter why or how they all come in, they all leave the same.
A blank gaze.
No more worries, no more cares, no more pain.
I have ensured that Ted won't hurt anyone ever again. Women can pass by him safely without flinching away at his vulgar words or prying out of his filthy grasp. No, Ted is a good man now, he just sits and does as he's told.
Some say it's cruel of course, to lobotomize a patient, to take away their personality. I say it's more humane honestly, and not just for the patient. Then again, I rather do enjoy my job...
I take lots of pride in my work.
