Aayla is a good friend of Mygeeta and Felucia. When she is not visiting them at their home in Veta Lake, Aayla lives in Ziara City, in her workshop/flat. Aayla is quite taken with the old stories of sky pirates and the old fighter squadrons and it is her dream to start buy a plane and her own squadron. She hasn't thought of a name for her new team yet though, and several acquaintances have pointed out there is no threat from the sky pirates anymore. Aayla likes to point out that it's more like 'at the moment!' and 'a lain can dream!'

In her spare time, Aayla is studying the mechanics of fighter piloting and enjoys building model aeroplanes. (Every Luminaire and birthday Mygeeta and Felucia get a model aeroplane from Aayla. Mygeeta has a dedicated room in their cave where she hangs them, but Felucia doesn't quite understand and tries to eat hers. Aayla pretends not to notice the gnawed aeroplanes that litter Felucia's garden patch).
