~Bringer of Light~

Data-Memo:
Vampire, pure blood - part of his memories gone - stalked by believers of the prophecy - best friends with Lan, close to Vay - brother to Luneth

The sound of hasty footsteps echo through the tunnel. So they've found out he got away. But they won't be able to catch him a second time. Not for a while at last. He's been kidnapped by this very sect a few times before. The overall count of abductions has long reached a number he forgot to even remeber.
Soundlessly he slides into a well hidden crack in the wall that will surely hide him from being seen. They're really close now. So close even that he can hear their rash breathing from the excitement of hunting and from fear of actually losing him. Again.
Usually they might be able to sense him even if he was motionless and soundless. But they are too agitated to make use of that very subtle skill now. They'd have to concentrate and be so very calm they'd be as dead as their bodies. Given the situation this is nothing they could manage.
As they pass him by without noticing him, just as expected, a grim smile makes him bare his fangs. They're fooled so easily. Over years and years they didn't learn a thing from the times he escaped them. While he himself learns a new lesson every time he's been hold hostage. If he could just avoid being kidnapped once an for all.

He's so sick and tired of it. Of being abducted, of having to run and of the prophecy even the most. If he could get his hands on that bastard of oracle that foretold that he, Lucifel, would bring back the light to his people he'd have a lot of pleasure killing him slowly. Sadly though the oracle was a very old and already weathered man who, surely just to spite him, dared to die right after he made that prediction. Old fool. His eyes must have gone blind by age and refuse to tell him truth. Because if there is someone who could be the exact opposite of that 'Bringer of Light' it would have to be Lucifel. What's with all that desperate longing for sunlight anyway?

Being in a calm state besides his angry thoughts he can easily do the trick that his pursuer couldn't. Lucifel shoves every memory of his past aside and concentrates. He can feel their presence. They're moving away from him quickly. Surely they believe they're still chasing him. It gives him the feeling that they're just like dogs running after a thrown toy without noticing they've been tricked and the toy hasn't even left the hands of those who plays with them. It would be fun, sort of, if in this paradigm Lucifel wasn't the toy rather than the one playing with them. It makes him wonder who had been the one throwing him. Into all this mess. Because even though this all was brought over him by the oracle it still feels like he's being held in the palms of someone unknown. And it gives him shivers just to think about it. To think someone is playing with him and with his life on whim. For what reason?

Lucifel snarls and quickly moves out of his hideout. He has to get home quickly. The sun will soon be rising. If she could just stay away forever.
He covers himself the best he can so he won't be recognized. If he got kidnapped again today he'd definitely lose his temper. The outcome wouldn't be very pleasant. For both sides.
Moreover, he never uses force other than what it needs to get him free. One of the reasons they can take him away rather easily. If he really fought back he would might end up killing someone. And he's set on never killing anyone ever again. Besides it wouldn't help much to kill one of them if the rest of the group jumps on him at the same time. Those bastards are cowards. None of them would even have the courage to face him alone.

The creepiest thing about it is though, that they do it out of adoration. The one time he actually killed someone was when they tried to get too close to him. That had cut it for him. Drooling all over him and treating him like a freaking god is one thing but trying to show that obsessive love to his body is a completely different thing. He made that very clear. Ever since then he refuses to being touched if he has a saying on it.
Those are his stalkers, those who gang up and form a sect and lose their minds over adoration for him.
There are those who want him for themselves out of greed and grave for power as well. Because they believe that the one who has power over Lucifel has also the power to rule over every vampire there is.
If they'd just believe him when he tells them he can't do shit for them his life would be so much simpler and a lot less stressful. He hates stress. Lucifel wants to decide on his own life himself only.

While running in a steady speed the darkness of night slowly but surely fades to grey. They took him too far away from his home-base. He'll have to find a place to hide until the sun sets again. He paces up and hurries around the corner. Just to bump into someone. He had run that person over. Though he has not much time left Lucifel doesn't feel like an ass today so he reaches out to help that guy up who just laughs and takes the helping hand with a thankful nod. "You seem to need a place to hide.", that person ascertains. Lucifel shoots a weary glance at the guy. He wears punkish clothings that are covered in neon-colored stains and has the hood of his baggy sweater over his, with no doubt colorful hair. "You're not one of my kind, by chance?" Another laughter is the answer. "Blergh, hell no!" True detest in his words but a friendly smile that says no offence was meant.

"Lan's the name. If you want you can take cover at my place until sunset." With his thumb he points over his shoulder to a house behind his back. Lucifel feels like this is not the time to be picky with the sun so close to glance over the horizon. Although that guy, Lan, makes him suspicious with his open antipathy for vampires but offering him to stay at his place without knowing anything about him other than he's a vampire. It just doesn't make much sense. "Don't give me that look, who of us is the predator and who'd end up the victim?" Lan grins and openly shows that he is sure Lucifel won't harm him. How carefree. But he's certainly right.
Lucifel wouldn't harm someone by drinking from them. Not if there are enough volunteers. Why take by force what you can get given willingly?
"Alright, let's hurry!" No need to thank that guy now. If he really proves to be only offering his help he'll think about thanking him when he leaves.

The place Lan takes him to is messy. He justifies it by calling it 'creative mess' that his artistic genius needs. The outcome is the same. Since he's only staying until sunset Lucifel doesn't care too much. Interesting about this place are the wall-paintings though. They are like the stains on that punks clothings in neon colors and in graffiti style and make you feel dizzy after a while of looking at them. The paintings have something even more special to them. A feeling oozes from them like paint but invisible. It feels like inside those coloful lines something lives.
Or maybe it's just the mix of screaming bright colors that make him hallucinate.

Lan, who noticed Lucifel's interest for his paintings offers to talk and explain about them in lengths. While he offers him a place to sit down he keeps on talking. The colors and the vapors of the paint must have gone to his brain as well since he's unnaturally awake and high spirited. Lucifel slowly starts to let that punks voice fade out and enters a blank state of mind. If Lan's aim was to distract him so much that he lets his guard down it surely did work.Lucifel must have been out of it for a while because the last thing he remembers is staring at the wall-paintings and Lan talking then the next thing he notices is Lan offering him a can of a 99.9% sugar drink, cooled down close to freezing. As he can't make out a refrigerator in this room Lan must have moved to a different one to get those drinks. Lucifel frowns at him for dragging him back to awareness before sunset. Even more since he did it to offer that killer drink to him. How could anyone drink that and survive?
Lan could. Another thing that Lucifel adds to the list of things that caused that guy to go all crazy.

To Lucifels relieve Lan proves to be easy to handle. He doesn't demand Lucifel to reply to anything he says and he doesn't look like it offends him that he's being ignored most of the time. Finally the sun is close to sink completely. Time to leave this place. Once he steps outside the door he turns around to thank Lan, earnestly. The day had started bad enough so he's really thankful for the help he received from that guy. Lan just waves it aside and grins like a friend would do. Over all he had treated him like a friend would. Something that Lucifel finds strange. He's sure he has never seen that guy before. And he knows he has no friends, so why would a strange treat him like one. Irritated he's about to leave.

"Ah, I almost forgot! Best not to take the Srevier Road today." Lan drops it like a side note with a casual ex-pression on his face but in his voice is also a bit of a warning. That guy smiles again, like he seems to be content with himself for passing on a message and closes the door before Lucifel has a chance to react to Lans odd behaviour. He's obviously a strange guy indeed. Lucifel shakes his head and starts to make his way to his hideout. Not to take the Srevier Road? He hadn't planned to do so anyway since it's not even close to the route he's going to take.

It takes him some time to refresh the cover after he had let himself go at that guys place. He had felt save there, oddly enough. Even taking Lans weird behaviour into account. But now he's hunted again and has to be careful.
Most streets he passes are empty and dead. It has long been since the golden days of this city. Hard to imagine that it had been worse a few years ago. Lately more and more people, mostly of his kind, returned to this city. If it is for the better in the end that's something time will have to reveal. Lucifel himself is not too pleased about the growing amount of vampires though.

With his sharp senses he soon notices the shadows that are soundlessly following him. Not again. Not AGAIN! He feels rage burning through his veins. They better forget about their plan of capturing him. Lucifel instantly switches from his casual walking speed into fast running. He'd like to see them catch on to him. On a second though, he doesn't.
The shadows follow him and though they can't outrun him they can more or less keep up with his speed. Lucifel starts to wildly switch roads and changing his direction each corner. They're still after him. The distance between them and Lucifel doesn't change a bit. Something that strikes him as odd.
He starts to pay closer attention to his surroundings and even manages to glance at the street names. He's even further away from his homebase than he's been when he left Lans place. The other information he gains from it is, that they're chasing him in a certain direction. Srevier Road, he's not too surprised now. He swears to himself that once he's been able to shake those followers off his back a certain punk will have to explain himself.

Being sure that they've set up a trap for him if he lets himself being chased the way they want Lucifel's aim is now clearly to cross their plans. To crush them. He usually doesn't like to resort to this vampire skill but this time it seems like he isn't left with much choice. He scans the houses in front of him. The moon is very bright tonight so it casts deep and dark shadows. They should be good enough to use. Most vampires can hide in all sorts of shadows but only a few can travel through them. Lucifel is not very keen on showing this skill to his pursuers but it's probably his only choice. He heads towards the darkest shadow among those cast by a nearby house wall. For a moment it seems as if he literally jumps into the wall, the next moment he's gone.
Lucifel lets them believe that he disappeared though the shadows but in truth he appears again not too far away, carefully hiding his presence. Even that short distance already exhausted him. If he didn't dislike this skill so much he'd have a great advantage against his stalkers if he trained the shadow travelling.

He listens closely to what those who chased him are talking. They're obviously confused about his disappearance. After all, he had never shown this talent before when he got kidnapped. And he'd rather not have them know about him being able to do so. One of them is talking over a headset. "We've lost him, Sir.", the voice and the gesture very submissive. So they're working for someone. Lucifel dearly hopes they reveal their masters identity. The reply must have been very unpleasant since the one talking whimpers words of apology over and over. "We did everything as planned, Sir. We've set the trap up.. yes, yes, on Srevier Road, yes. We chased him and everything went as planned. Then he suddenly disappeared." A shriek of horror followed by another spate of apologies make it clear that the master was very angry about his henchman now. Lucifel smirks darkly. Serves them right. He gathers his strength again and moves back into the shadows.

Lucifel never travelled far using that skill. When he has to leave the shadows again all his energy is drained. But he's close to his hideout now. The lack of strength makes it seem like miles away though. What feels like an eternity later he finally reaches his homebase. He uses the last and faint remains of energy to scan his surroundings using his vampire skills to do so. His vision starts to blur and black out and his hands shake when he removes the cover of the underground tunnel that leads to the code protected door that, thick as a save wall, protects his home. Once behind the cover he places it back carefully before he sinks to the floor, almost fainting. His breath is racing and his body is covered in cold sweat. Although he'd feel a lot saver inside his hideout the tunnel has to do for now.

It takes him hours to regain enough strength to stand up again and enter the code to finally get into his home. Though save it never really makes him think of the word "home" however. While crossing the first room, his living room and kitchen in one, he starts to strip off his clothing while directly heading for the bathroom, or more, the shower to be precise. He turns on the water and sinks down to the floor again for another moment of rest. Lucifel decides to freshen up his energy over the day and to pay a visit to Lan once the sun has set again. How, if not by being on the enemies side, could he have known about the trap they've had set up? Even if, why did he warn him? Lan hadn't appeared like a completely messed up person to him. Well, in a way he surely is, talking non-stop and surviving that sugar drinks and all that but it still made it hard for Lucifel to believe that Lan could be an evil, psychopathic mastermind. He might have heavy trusting issues but some part of him really hopes to be able to believe in that guy.

Before throwing his body on the sofa to relax Lucifel heads for the fridge to fetch himself some instant-blood. He frowns at it while pouring it in a glass. The taste is bad, it had always been. Nothing the crystal cup could change but at least it looks more appetizing now. Considering the development of technology Lucifel once again wonders why they never managed to conserve blood in a way it doesn't taste stale. Shortly he reflects back on the short period where the majority of the blood drinking population (this includes vampires but is not limited to them) aimed to switch to instant-blood for good. It was the huge independence movement, a strive for freedom, as they called it. They didn't want to be seen as vermin, incapable of surviving without a blood-host.
As much as their attempts had amused him (there's no way to deny ones nature), Lucifel still holds some bitter feelings when thinking back at to time. He knew even before trying that this kind of blood would not fit his taste. Having been known as a 'Bloodsucker' (someone who 'sucks' the blood out of a living being) was risky back then. It sure held some irony that he got called a blood sucking monster by his own kind. Thinking back Lucifel had more reasons to hide back then than now.
He'd much prefer to go out and have a drink in a nice blood-bar but that is out of the question right now. Knowing his lifestyle he had done him some good stocking up instant-blood since it was better than nothing in the end.

Surprisingly when he wakes up he feels refreshed and what's even more unusual, his body isn't aching as it would be after using his shadow walking skill. Lucifel stretches a bit and takes his time to make himself ready to confront Lan. He could admit that he wants to delay the meeting as long as possible without making it to obvious for himself. He could but he doesn't want to. A hunch tells him that he won't like what he's going to find out.
Noticing that he starts to almost move like an old man he shakes his head reluctantly. This is not his style and he will not start with it now. A grabs a jacket of grey and red color and makes his leave.

Besides the uneasy feeling that he might attract some stalkers again, a feeling that never ceases to nag on him every time he leaves home (he is well aware that it is part of a growing paranoia), he enjoys the walk. He likes to feel the fresh air around him, cool and calm and his surrounding quiet. In a huge city, as vacant as it might be, it's not something you can feel every day. Lucifel would give much right now if he could have a tasty drink in a bloodbar to wash the stale taste of the instant-blood away. But he decided he won't prolongate the meeting any longer.

When Lan opens the door just the moment Lucifel wants to knock he'd much like to say he didn't expect it but he'd have to lie as he wasn't surprised at the least. "Yo.", a short and friendly greeting and a wave with his hand invites Lucifel in. "You're not an oracle-future-seeing-bastard of sort, are you?", he asks annoyed. Lan gives him a surprised look and snickers. "I'm as much an oracle as I'm a vampire." He had denied the later with detest so the same probably goes for oracles as well. Lan glances over the shoulder while he keeps on walking further into his flat. "I am not. But she is." With those words he opens a door into a room Lucifel had not seen before. 'She..?' He has a bad feeling about it when he enters the room.

On an antique looking chair sits the most translucent girl he has ever seen. Her skin is so pale that it's almost white as snow. Her hair is silver and falls in long strands over her small shoulders. Even while she's sitting Lucifel can tell that she's not tall and might only reach to his chest if she stood in front of him. Her eyes are the most irritating about her though. While they seem to dimly glow their color changes flawlessly. Whenever he thinks to make out a color it already changed. "She's quite the appearance, isn't she?", Lan grins.
"She is, but I can't shake the feeling that I won't like what you're about to explain about her.", Lucifel grumbles back. "If you like or not like what you hear is your decision to make. Just don't make too much of a fuss about it and start to see things a bit more relaxed. Want a drink?" Lan keeps his carefree attitude but in his voice is also a bit of tension. You can hardly hide your emotions from the sensitive hearings of a vampire. "Why not, if it's blood you have to offer.", Lucifel shrugs knowing that the punk has only those hazardous sugar drinks in his fridge. "Do you really only live of blood alone?" Lan can't hide his curiosity. Lucifel could give him a short answer but he doesn't feel like explaining the unsightly aspects of his existence now. "I think we have more important things to discuss," he replies in his matter-of-fact voice.

The girl hasn't said a single thing while Lan and Lucifel were talking and even now she seems absent. Lan notices Lucifels irritated look towards her direction. "She's not .. 'here' right now but sooner or later she'll join our conversation. I'll just fill you in with the basics until then." Lucifel nods and seats himself in one of the other chairs standing around. They're all different of style as well as of material and age. Lan keeps moving around the room. Looking at him it doesn't seem restless but more like Lan being his usual self. "Let's see... how to start.." Lan ponders while messing up his own already spiky hair. "About a month ago I was doing some street art down at the factory district. That's when I first met her. She had been so out of place that I, of course, instantly noticed her. I thought she might be lost and talked to her but it was like she was looking straight through me even though her eyes were on me. I have to admit it gave me the chills. I ought to leave her to herself but she was still looking at and through me and somehow I couldn't avert my eyes either. Take this as a warning, it might happen to you as well." Lan grins sheepishly and finally takes a seat as well though he uses the chair in his own manner, putting up one shoe on the seat and hugging his leg with one of his arms while using the other one to wave and point around while proceeding with his story.

"After a while her gaze changed and she looked at me straight now. She smiled then as if we knew each other ever-since. And she knew my name without me telling her. That day she just left a few words with me and went away without an explanation. I have to admit that I was confused enough to let her leave like that. Soon afterwards I took a job for a street-wear company, they wanted me to design their logo. Guess whom I met in front of the building. Yes, the girl and she wasn't surprised to see me at all. She even explained to me that she was waiting for me there. She left me the address of a café nearby before leaving where we should meet up after I was done with my job. I already guessed she'd know when I'd finish. And so it was. In the café she explained to me that she was able to see the past, present and future though the time-skips seldom ever happened according to her own intentional doings."

Lucifel starts to frown. So the girl truly is an oracle, equipped with his favorite kind of supernatural power. He bites every comment down however since he wants to hear the full explanation from Lan. "You can imagine that it is every hard for her to tell the time-lines apart. Sometimes it's even impossible for her. It also makes her every-day life everything else besides usual. So she was sitting there and she had explained it to me as if something like that was normal. Up until then I had little if nothing to do with.. you folks. People with specials skills and powers or of different species. Naturally I didn't understand everything she told me. She insisted however, that I'd befriend a vampire and we'd team up to fight evil forces...well something along that lines. Sounds crazy and I was sure she was as well. So I left her there and went home while her words still echoed in my head. The day I first met you I instantly had the feeling I knew you for ages and somehow those words from before made sense. You can doubt it as much as you want but ask yourself about the impression you had back then." Lan looks very serious now. Lucifel fights his aversion against future predicts down. He'd like to deny it but he can't lie about the fact that he had felt the same back then.

Lucifel gives in. "Alright, I'll listen to what she has to say. How long does it usually take for her to return to this time?" Lans body loosens up which makes Lucifel notice how tense the punk had been. With a smile he replies: "I haven't met her often enough to speak of the usual but it shouldn't take too long now. I wonder what she sees right now."
