A bird flew from her nest, screeching as she raised her feet towards the predator. She clawed at the eagle's chest - making the eagle screech in pain. It wrapped it's talons around her neck before throwing her to the ground and flying away.

On the ground the bird thought of her children in the nest. At least she had saved them. She gasped for air and tried to make herself comfortable in what she was sure would be her last moments.

A figure appeared in front of her. She had never seen anything like it before. At first glance, it looked like a deer - long legs and brilliant gold antlers, but then you'd notice the face and floppy ears, that were like those of a goat. It was covered in thin, silky looking bright blue fur, with golds scales covering its ankles. It's eyes were a bright green. The most brilliant thing though was it's tail, long and feathered, brilliantly coloured, just like a peacock.

The creature bent down rubbed it's nose against the head of the bird. She suddenly felt at peace, the pain was gone. The creature spoke to her.

"You've done good in your life. You sacrificed yourself for your family. You put your own fears aside. Don't be afraid. I'm Zedekiah, and I am here to help you."

The bird closed her eyes as Zedekiah rubbed is face over her. When she opened her eyes she felt confused, but healthy. She flew back up to her nest and took care of her children. She had no memory of what happened.

Meanwhile, Zedekiah watched from behind a tree a few metres away. He smiled as he walked away. The little bird wasn't the first he had helped, he had even helped humans. But none of them would ever remember him. Which is just the way he wanted it.
