Evgeni, like many nomadic folk, enjoyed his life among his troupe. Traveling, tricking people out of their money, obtaining their valuables and coins (many would call it stealing, Evgeni just calls it ... "convincing" them to gamble it away on his rigged games), stealing jewelry and shiny trinkets for his own personal collection... what more could he want?
However, there was a story that he had heard from the other nomads, a story about an outcast from another troupe... It was said that this outcast could see the future. Not the minor auguries performed by some of the others among Evgeni's own group, but in fact some truly alarming visions that not many would wish to see.
Although the others in his family advised him against it, calling this boy a demon or accursed, Evgeni was intrigued by these rumors. Curious to hear more about this stranger, he left behind his family, his comforting surroundings, and everything he'd known in order to seek him out; perhaps he could learn more about the boy (and maybe add a few more baubles to his collection along the way...)
