She couldn't decide. They both were excellent choices. Oh which one, which one she thought as she stared down at the two desserts her sister Seygo held out for her. One was a delicious looking mousse pie with a sticky, but ever so yummy whipped topping and a few cherries on top. The other was a scrumptious looking strawberry cheesecake with a fruit syrup drizzled across the top. Both were good and both made her mouth water.

"Come ON Sail! You do this every time! It's not that hard to choose, just pick the one you like more!"

"But I love both the same" Sail replied in earnest. Her sister gave another sigh and continued to hold out the two plates, tapping her foot in impatience. Sail really did like both, but wanted to be sure the one she chose would be enough. She looked from one to the other comparing sizes, thickness, and even the shapes of each portions.

After another few minutes went by with still no choice being made, her sister finally had enough. Seygo looked down at each of the choices, shrugged then placed the mousse in front of Sail, while taking the cheesecake for herself.

"Hey! I hadn't decided yet" Sail complained. Seygo rolled her eyes back and shovelled a huge forkful of cake into her mouth.

"You said either was fine, so I chose for you." she said around her mouthful, spraying a few crumbs onto the table. Ducking under the glare of their mother she swallowed her half chewed mouthful, almost choking in her haste to explain; "I like cheesecake more so I took that and gave you the mousse. Just eat it will ya? Sheesh!" She grinned and crammed another oversized portion into her mouth, earning yet another glare from their mother.

Sail looked down and shrugged. She really didn't mind, but would have preferred if the decision had been her own. But the mousse really was delicious. So she nibbled delicately on her pie, thinking nothing more about decisions and more on enjoying her dessert.

Sailfish is a perfectionist in everything she does. She considers all decisions seriously and at great length, even for simple ones such as which flavour of salad cream she wants. Because she often takes so long in choosing she often makes her siblings annoyed to the point where they will grab the nearest option and thrust it at her just to move on. She tends to take things much slower paced than her siblings which more often than not is more beneficial to not only herself but her family. Her siblings may tease her for her refusal for haste in everything she does, but they love her dearly and realize that most times her choices are wise ones... even if they do take days to come!

Someone once asked why is it that Sailfish likes bubbles so much... so I thought I'd try and explain.

First, what you must know about Sailfish is that she is one of the sentient Elementfish... specifically an Airfish. This means she "swims" in the air, similar to how the Waterfish swim through the lakes and oceans. She also breathes like a fish, taking in Oxygen and expelling Carbon Dioxide through her gills. This is why she can happily sit and eat with her land based family at the dinner table, or interact with friends and shopkeepers. She does on occasion love to go swim in the lake near the family home, but just like the rest of her family, she must hold her breath when going under the water.

Anyways, her fascination with bubbles came at an early age when her adoptive mother took her to show her the various types of sentient fish (who were very similar to Sail). She was amazed and awed at the beautiful colours Firefish, who looked as graceful and beautiful as the peaks of flames in a fireplace. She loved the browns and dark greens of the Earthfish and bewildered at how they swam through solid rock and dirt as though it wasn't there. She was thrilled at meeting other Airfish like herself and discovered they were all in various shades of colours, from bright yellow to almost black. But her complete entrancement was with the Waterfish who were of various shades of blues and greens.

She noticed that all but the Airfish expelled some form of bubble into their medium, releasing the Carbon Dioxide from their bodies... though the most noticeable were those emitted from the Waterfish. For this reason she began to collect bubbles, because she loved how delicate they looked. What she didn't know (until much later when she was older) was that Airfish also expel Carbon Dioxide just like all the other Elementfish, but since they are in a medium already filled with similar gasses, there is no "bubble" formed. She still collected her bubbles though and enjoys her collection to this day.
