The test subject is doing even better than we could have imagined. It has reached excellent results in the combat simulator. The newly tested meds do their job mostly well. It has even better reflexes than normal and a reduced pain sensitivity – although it seems like this one still needs more testing... An adverse reaction to the meds seems he somehow has an inability to feel much of any kind of feelings. Basically, he is unable to feel pain, which is good but also unable to feel happiness or even fear – which proved to be a big problem. Three other subjects tested on the new drugs killed themselves accidently. To get better results in the pain sensitivity-section we suggest trying another way. It's basically a combination of a modification done to the human brain without any other permanent effects, as well as a therapy where the subject is put under permanent physical pain. It still needs testing, but a combination of these three ways seems to be the possible solution to all our questions.

40 Years later ~
"Did it hurt even more less than yesterday?" The scientist's voice was full of intrigue. The boy he was talking to had black hair and light gray eyes – eyes missing any kind of joy or happiness, eyes no kid at the age of eight should have.
"Yes." The boy's answer was nearly robotic. He had learned a long time ago to just answer questions. He avoided small talk unless he was told to make it– though he couldn't remember this ever happening.
"Very well... Since you've done so well today, you'll have an extra turn on the combat simulator. Isn't that something?"
There was a short moment where it seemed like a spark of a feeling, a hint of anticipation, wanted to make its way into the boy's facial features. It was gone before it had time to fully show.
"That would be great. Thank you very much." The boy's voice was emotionless The scientist smiled and indicated him to leave the unfurnished room. When the boy had gone, the scientist exited the room though another door.
"That was really impressive work." The praise came from one of the three persons observing. There was only one male not wearing one of the typical lab coats. He raised a hand and all of the others immediately fell silent.
"Lets watch him doing the combat simulator," the first scientist hastily suggested.
They followed the scientist to another room where they could watch the boy. He had started with the simulation. Quickly and full of determination, he neutralized one hologram after another. There was no uncertainty nor fear in that young boy's eyes when he finished the run and handed his weapon a female waiting near the door.
The leading scientist and the others had watched in silence now. Now the scientist turned fearfully to his superior – who surprisingly smiled.
He had never seen this man smile!
"He is perfect. Bring him to me. It's time he finally leaves this place so he can start to do his real work."
*****
"What's your name?"
The intimidating male stood right in front of Reggie but the boy didn't even flinch a fraction.
"Reggie, Sir." He looked directly into those cold black eyes, which were similar to his own except for the color.
"My name is Thomas Blake. You should know that you basically exist to serve me. You were trained in here as my servant. You'll continue your training, but in another environment. In the future, you'll get missions either directly from myself or from one of my other servants. As long as you do as I say, you'll live and be allowed to do what you have been trained for. If you so much as try to refuse the simplest order...Well, always remember that you are replaceable. Got it, boy?"
"Yes, Sir. I won't disappoint you." The boy's simple reply made the fat older man smile.
"Good boy."
2283, 16 years later ~
"Come here, Reggie." Thomas Blake pointed to the chair in front of his desk. Blake smiled when he saw Reggie' eyes. So cold and lacking of any kind of feelings. Feelings just made one weak. Reggie didn't have problems with that. He was nearly jealous of his masterpiece. If the new drugs proved to be safe when fully tested, he'd maybe take them himself...
"Master...?" Reggie's voice was careful.
Thomas Blake frowned. He did not like for Reggie to interrupt his thoughts.
"Forgive me."
Blake knew the drugs they just had started testing on Reggie had an unwanted side effect. of Reggie was starting to think more... independently.
A few of his scientists had warned Blake about that. They told him it could cause some serious problems. Blake ignored them. Reggie was in his thrall. He wouldn't dare to oppose his master. Reggie was his toy since birth and he would make sure it stayed like that no matter what irrational fear his advisers had.
"Reggie, I've got a mission for you to fulfill. I want you to go to this specific Raider camp, to take back the technology they managed to steal from a part of the Brotherhood of Steel. Be fast and take no risks. Don't return to this place before you have done your job. You may take your weapon with you. Go talk to Dr. Dallas. He'll hand it over. Now go."
"Yes master. I won't disappoint you." Blake watched Reggie leaving the room. He smiled to himself when the door closed.
"Yes, I know." Though he spoke in a loud voice, the words were for his ears alone.
