Durandal McEntyre

Originally born into the land of Vyrhallah, in the militant kingdom of Lafina, Durandal and his brother Balmung were talented young swordsmen in the country's army. As the soldiers approached a legendary status among the people, their skill unrivaled, the king of Lafina grew jealous; and concerned for his position on the throne. He appealed to the trickster god, Bastado, to take these men and do away with them. And thus the god did; he ripped their souls from their mortal bodies and cast them back into the void.

Eventually they were reincarnated, in the world as we commonly know it.

Reborn as a simple lived, rather taciturn and solitary rancher, Durandal mostly raises and trains horses. He has a special talent with them, and, in fact, gets along with his horses much better than he connects with most people. His ranch also has a herd of cattle, a few goats, and a small, personal use garden. Durandal, having never struggled to make his bills in his life, now struggles to keep his ranch, as a wealthy landowner dogs his days and is trying everything in his power to get him to leave his ranch. Including burning down the home he had built with his own hands.

Not a man to be beaten down, Durandal instead expanded his property; he bought a historic, abandoned home a few acres off of his ranch. Certainly, it would mean a little drive out to work with his animals and do his chores with them, but it was a small price to pay to keep from losing them altogether. And, hidden in the old house's attic, Durandal found an even more special treasure...

Durandal is an average height, at just under six feet tall. He has short, close shaved blond hair, deep blue eyes, and a scruffy beard. His ears are pierced, with tiny silver studs; they have been for as long as he can remember, so he assumes his mother had it done when he was a baby, though his parents both died when he and his brother were pretty young. He has a light smattering of freckles across his cheekbones and nose, and over his shoulders. At the base of his neck he has a tribal-esque sun tattoo; the brand for his ranch.

He has one animal that serves purely as a pet; a tiny, old chestnut pony by the name of Dusty that he's had since he was a child and the pony was a newborn foal.
