I Want to Be a Real Simian!

Oddities and rare trinkets can oft be found in the old curio shoppes in the Sacred Lands. One day, the proprietor of a travelling show was searching for his next big act. He had been searching for months, only to come up empty handed and broke. Somewhere past Spells Galore, he was beckoned into a dark alleyway. The shadowy figure was old and bent. The proprietor could see that he was paler than most that dwelt here, which suggested that he had lived his whole life in dark places. I once was as young and strong as you are now. Allow me to give you the gift of true power,the old man coughed and wheezed. Then he pulled a tattered toy from his robes. The proprietor looked in disgust at the broken doll. It was the creepiest monkey he had ever seen. Not wanting to insult the old man, he took it and quickly left the alley.

When he returned to his trailer, he tossed the antique on the counter and went about his day. Later that night he decided to take a closer look at the piece to see if he could figure out the old man's riddle. He returned to the room where he had placed the toy ... it wasn't there. He searched the whole house to no avail. Finally when he had given up, he saw it sitting outside next to the horses. That was odd since all of his workers were still in town on break and his wife had been with him. He shook off the thought and went to grab it. The monkey swirled its wooden head and smiled at the proprietor. The man fell back in surprised and stared at the doll. It rose from the ground and walked closer to its frightened owner and slowly extended a small paw. Unsure, the proprietor slowly reached for the dirty fingers. They shook to an unspoken contact. What that contract was, only Moron, the living monkey doll, knew for sure. But he has been delightfully scaring the customers of that travelling show ever since.

And in case you are wondering, Moron v2 isn't really a minion in the way one would think. He is actually a stand in for when Moron disappears. Unlike the real thing, this little metal minion is truly a steamwork creation that the proprietor had made after the first time he lost the sneaky primate. No one knows where he goes, but they aren't sure that they want to know either. They are the same size, so the machine can wear any outfit that Moron can.
