Panthea is all that is left of the once thriving race, the Lain. The Lain were known for their endless pursuit of knowledge. Day after day, they catalogued their findings and reported the new information tothe Athenaeum.

Over time, they began to disappear. They no longer needed to search for the knowledge because were able to locate it remotely. Their technology was far more advanced then anything that had ever been seen before. They were able to become completely self sufficient. Suddenly, they were gone. The entire race closed into the Athenaeum never to be seen again.

Their knowledge had become a threat to the outside and they needed to be stopped. So they were.The Lain were eradicated in only a day. A war ensued but the Lain seemed to haveaccepted their fate, almost not fightingback at all. An entire race shutting down at their finest hour.

But the Lain would did not accept that fate.Panthea is a LuLain. She was genetically and technologically engineered to continue the pursuit for information by the Lain. The millenia of information gathered by the Lain was stored within the Athenaeum and,if ever necessary, this information would be transferred to Panthea if it were to fall.
