History: Zabas was born in Africa, but was brought to the United States as a young child, on one of the slave ships. He worked for them for awhile, until a vampire came to their home. Of course none of them knew what it was at the time, as far as they knew he was just a slave dealer interested in purchasing one of the slaves. The mysterious man stayed there for two nights, working out various deals with the owner of the plantation. On the last night of his stay, he purchased three slaves, Zabas, his sister, Nafiri, and one of the larger male slaves working there, named Brutus. They traveled together from place to place for a long time, and Zabas never really understood why. One night, however, Nafiri cut herself while cooking a meal for their master, while he was in the room. He went completely berserk, sucking the blood from Nafiri until she died. Zabas arrived on the scene just as he was taking his last drink, and fueled by anger, he attacked their owner. But of course vampires are much stronger than humans, and the master had almost finished with him too when the third slave entered. Brutus managed to kill the slave master (it turned out that he was a vampire too, but he had quite a hold on his self-control) but he was too late to save Zabas from his new fate. Zabas has been a vampire ever since, going from place to place to avoid revealing his secret.
