Born in the Summer Palace in Beijing, Overdue is half Foo-dog and half Qilin. Because he is the first of his kind, he was highly regarded as being blessed by Xuan Wu himself.

After growing up, he moved into the Buddhist complex of the palace. He found Burma wounded at one of the ponds, and the two have been inseparable ever since.
