When added to, say Destemplar, it is made into meaning to distemper, alter, or disconcert. Another would be to become blunt, to lose temper.

Destem was not born. He was created. A group of witches intending to create a great warrior for protection of their kind are responsible for creating the creature known as Destem. They did not expect for their creation to go so wrong. Their magic was not dark, oh no, it was pure. But when magic is put into making something, some times darkness will get involved.

They encountered a demon on the third and last night of the long ceremony of creation. This demon was a cruel twisted thing. He himself created from a witch. Even though he wasn't always. His form was that of a large wolf with sharpened feet, if they could be considered that, and an elongated muzzle, glass for teeth, hidden behind a sewn mouth.

He laughed at their attempts and told them that they would fail. They banished him with fairly easily. But they feared to continue the ceremony. So the coven cut it off. A few of them disagreed, but in the end they all said they couldn't go on with the lingering air of the demon around anyway. This didn't matter though. From the former chantings and preparing, the creation of the body from the soil and earth, Destem became real. But unfinished. The demon Entakai had been sent by the witch to cause this. She knew if the pure witches feared their magic would be tainted then they would not continue the ritual. This witch also knew these others were inexperienced, therefore they would not realize the need to burn the area and purify it of the former ceremonies to stop Destem from coming alive as he did.
