Skyfall looked up from the pad of paper that she had been writing on. She wouldn’t even really call it writing. It was more like writing down random words that sounded good to her in the moment. Normally she was a little more creative than she had been the past few days.

She looked out the window with a sigh that fogged up the glass. She was never cold or wet despite being a Glacier pet. She was always mildly amused with herself when she would frost up a window or breathe snow flakes when she huffed. She had others tell her that she felt slightly colder but never freezing. The difference was only ever noticeable in the dead heat of summer or on trips to Darkside. Regardless of the temperature Darkside always had a heavy, humid feel to the air even if it wasn’t hot.

Skyfall was never far from the city and didn’t spend much time in the other regions. She loved the convenience of the city. She spent most of her days in Centropolis. The commute into the city could be rather tedious but it was worth the time and effort. She rather enjoyed the numerous buildings and abundance of people.

She was no stranger to the Arts District. She spent a lot of time in and out of different cafes, delis or boutiques. Some days she’d write songs or stories while other days she’d draw and sketch. The entire planet of Subeta was very kind to artists. Most of the shop keepers paid others for their creativity. No one person came up with every idea or product that they sold.

There were numerous stickers that Rumi sold at Stick It To The Man! that were the creative works of Skyfall herself. Skyfall wasn’t a household name by any means. Stickers were a great collectable but there were thousands of designs and most were pretty cheap. One of Skyfall’s proudest moments was walking past a group of younger pets discussing their newest sticker conquests when one girl proudly showed off her newest collectable. It just happened to be one of Skyfall’s designs.

She had a few pieces of creativity floating around the world. Artists don’t really get famous for their work unless it’s a clothing line. Anything with the word Delish or Vanity and your name was known by everyone in the city. Something like a sticker line or plushie design got you a paycheck and street cred.

Skyfall didn’t mind. She preferred it that way. Subeautique lines meant conformity to the industry while maintaining a level of constant creativity that wasn’t possible. Skyfall enjoyed her selective solitude and intimate relationships with the store owners and patrons. She dreamed of stardom and fame like most but she was content with her current lifestyle and routine.

“Hold your breath and count to ten,” Skyfall thought to herself as she started to get frustrated at the words on the paper. She was better than this and she knew it. Skyfall was many things but she knew she was better than a few random words on a piece of paper. She slammed the notebook shut and left the café. She wasn’t even sure what store she had been in for the past several hours now that she was walking down the crowded street. She did know however that it was time to head home. Mom never really got mad at her chaotic hours or when she broke curfew. It was more of a guideline anyway. The sun setting over the buildings was her cue to head home.

The train ride home was long so Skyfall always tried to take advantage of the ride by listening to new music and reading the newest fashion magazines. She put her ear buds in and shuffled the tracks on her music player. Nothing felt right so she kept shuffling through the tracks. She kept reading over the same page in her magazine. She was getting nowhere with any of it. It was too long of a train ride to do nothing though. “Oh when it crumbles,” thought Skyfall.

She dug through her bag looking for her sketchpad and her colored pencils. She was making a cluttered mess of items on the seats around her. Skyfall then spent the next hour writing the lyrics that she had struggled for days to get on paper.

The bus ride from the train station home was always just the worst for her. She didn’t have time to write or draw but it was too long to just sit in silence. Skyfall finally entered the large, brick house and went straight into the kitchen. It was late, very late and no one was still around on the lower level. She then saw a package and a note with her name on it sitting on the kitchen counter. Inside of a brown paper bag was a new set of colored pencils and a dozen small notebooks. Skyfall smiled and didn’t hesitate to take them. The smaller notebooks were so much easier to draw and come up with new sticker ideas.

She laughed out loud, louder than she meant to. The idea was so simple that she was almost embarrassed that it had taken her this long to come up with it. She grabbed her gifts and went straight upstairs to her room, the song she had previously written flowing through her head.

Skyfall had no idea what time it was when she finished the rough drafts of her sketches. Sunlight had yet to come up over the hill into her window but she knew it wasn’t far off. She took all of the pages she had sketched and taped them to the wall above her desk. It was easier to re-sketch and color when her ideas were on the walls in front of her. She knew she should go to bed and sleep but she couldn’t let this go. She grabbed her new colored pencils and dumped them all over her desk. She then looked around her room almost frantically for a moment before she spotted her Snoclowd sleeping on her bed. He was such an amazing minion. He was never far from her even if she was a little unaware of where he was.

She picked him up off of the bed and set him on a small pillow on her desk. He continued to sleep. She colored and sketched, comparing the shades on the Snoclowd’s fur to the colors on the pages. He was such a perfect little muse.

Hours later and another sunrise that she had been awake for passed before she threw her hands up in defeat against sleep. She shuffled through the pages that contained different depictions of the weather. She knew the second the thought entered her mind that they would make an amazing sticker collection and she couldn’t wait to finish her designs.

This is the end,Hold your breath and count to ten.Feel the earth move and then,Hear my heart burst again.

For this is the end,I've drowned and dreamt this moment. So overdue I owe them,Swept away I'm stolen.

Let the skyfall. When it crumbles,We will stand tall,Face it all together.Let the skyfall. When it crumbles,We will stand tallFace it all together,At skyfall. At skyfall.

Skyfall is where we start,A thousand miles and poles apart.Where worlds collide and days are dark. You may have my number, you can take my name,But you'll never have my heart.

Let the skyfall. When it crumbles,We will stand tall,Face it all together.Let the skyfall. When it crumbles,We will stand tallFace it all together,At skyfall. At skyfall.

Where you go I go,What you see I see,I know I'd never be me.Without the security,Of your loving arms,Keeping me from harm.Put your hand in my hand,And we'll stand.
