notes about Whidbey while I actually work on him:
A direct employee of Brandt and the other gods of Holdren. Whidbey is another magical bounty hunter, but unlike Boston (who tried to disarm over kill when he could), Whidbey has absolutely no problem in shooting first, asking questions later.

Whidbey’s preferred weapon is a bow and arrow. He’s known to dip his arrowheads in poisons that are designed to target a mage’s elemental weakness. Has a wolf companion that can sense magic.

Whidbey is an excellent tracker no matter the prey he’s trying to take down. In the bad ending, he has been tasked with finding James and Thatcher. Although Brandt has requested James be turned in alive, Whidbey’s banking on Brandt not being too mad either way - just as long as he shuts James up.
