Maxim was the last one born in a forgotten place. While Pessenova was once a bustling oasis, that was before his time. One day, the lake disappeared, and the desert consumed the town. In the years that followed, the population bled out into the southern part of the country. In time, even Maxim's family would give their land up for lost and head south. But he stayed. Him and thirty-something old timers determined to live the last of their years out at home. Maxim knows that one day, there will be nothing left for him in that ghost town. But he struggles to imagine a life anywhere else.
