People fear and misunderstand his kind. Unable to break the laws of nature, he must carry out his job and move souls onward to Heaven, or God forbid Hell. However, his job is not to steal from families similar to what people may believe. In a fair amount of instances, he feels generous and gives people a few more seconds, minutes, or hours even. In those extra moments, a person does not feel anything other than peace. The suffering, if any, ceases, and the person feels at rest and is able to relish in the last moments of life granted to him or her.
This reaper also feels emotions, though he does not understand what he feels. The decision whether to extend a life or not depends on his own judgement because he usually follows his heart without question. In most instances, he is scolded if he chooses not to extend a life. Naturally, the reaper feels guilt but he also trusts in his decision and moves on to his next job without doubting himself.
"If I give a human more time to live, their gods are thanked and if I safely guide their souls to the required destination, I am blamed. Why is this?," the reaper wonders to himself often. However he knows better than to waste time brewing in self-pity, as it will not change a thing.
