Hi, I'm Nadja.
My daddy gave me this name, as it means Hope in Russian. My mommy was from Russia, bit I never met her. She died right after giving brith to me. Sometimes I wish, would have gotten the chance to meet with her. My daddy always gets very sad when he tells me about her and shows me pictures of her. Mommy was so beautiful with long brown hair and brown eyes. Her smile was so bright and lovely. However I do not look like her at all, The only thing I got from her are her eyes. From daddy I have my blonde hair, the freckles and the button nose.
Mommy and daddy actually never married, because daddy is married with another man. He is also my dad and I love him as well very much. Dad is very tall and so strong, he can lift up daddy with just one arm! Also at work, he is the boss of a loooot other men. They are all soldiers like daddy is. Soldiers are there to protect us from all the evil men there. Such evil men, who also killed my mommy.
Tonight I startle from sleep. But I know, what woke me up. Daddy had a bad dream - again. I rub my eyes and pull Babu, my old teddy bear, in my arm. Babu needs to come with me. I know what to do. Slowly I walk out of my room. It's very dark in the hallway, but I just need to find the door next to mine. It's the bedroom of my daddys. I see a dim light when I push open the door. Dad has pulled daddy into his arms and rocks him softly.
Carefully come closer. Dad recognizes me and gives me a weary smile.
"It's okay, Nadja. Daddy is alright."
But I don't believe him. Daddy is shaking, his fingers are clenched into dad's t-shirt. I sigh and decide to come close. "Can I have a hug, daddy?", I ask and stretch out my arms. It is too high for me to climb into the beds. But I know, daddy never denies me a hug. So also today. He turns around to me and I am worried, how pale he is. His eyes are widened. But he tries to smile.
"Of course, honeypie."
He takes me up and puts me between them. this is the place I love to be most. Immediately I crawl closer and snuggle up against daddys chest. Gently he puts an arm around me and cradles me. Dad embraces us both, so we lay all snug and tight.
"Was it this bad dream again?" I ask. He nods lightly.
"Yes. The bad dream with the evil men."
I can feel him sighing. I know what he is talking about. He dreamt about the day I was born. When mommy died and I was brought away by that one evil man.
