We found you when we were going out for pizza with friends.

Hence, the name "Garlic". It was originally a joke, haha, you know, like garlic sauce, we were going to come up with something better, but when I took you to the vet for the first time and they asked for your name, I told them "Garlic". And thus, you were christened.

You were soooo nice and lovey when we first got you...

...but that was a facade, lol. Turns out, you were only lovey and purring when you wanted something, generally food. You were SO food motivated. You hated fish, weirdly enough, but loved chicken-flavored things. Otherwise, you were kind of a little asshole tbh. Meowed in protest when being pet, often swatted at people if they pet you for too long, etc. Swatted a lot in general. You were declawed, we found you that way, but you didn't let it stop you from attacking people and our roommate's cat, haha.

You kinda just did your own thing most of the time.

Oh, you'd play occasionally, but most of the time you just wanted to be left alone. Unfortunately, the three of us often bombarded you with love whether you wanted it or not, much to your chagrin. The things you did play with were few and far between, but you really liked wand toys and laser pointers, we found.

You had some of the cutest habits.

You would decently often just lay on the kitchen floor and start rolling around, and it was the most adorable thing, the absolutely peak of cuteness. You, like many cats, also came running when anything that could have possibly been a treat bag crinkled. I cannot articulate how food motivated you were, it was so funny honestly.

Unfortunately, you also had some bad habits...

If the litter wasn't pristine, you would find somewhere else to pee... often our clothes. The vet put you on Prozac for it. And, as stated before, you were just not very nice probably 95% of the time lol. You and our roommate's cat, Truck, would often fight, though thankfully not too badly, I don't think either of you ever really got hurt. But god if we didn't love you anyway.

Sometimes y'all got along, though.

You got really sick in the end, lost a ton of weight without us noticing, and I still feel terrible about it. There was nothing the vet could do besides refer us to an emergency vet, without even the guarantee of a positive outcome. So I had to make an extremely difficult decision.
