Long ago, in her fondly remembered youth, Alvarel had lived a vibrant and full life. She had traveled, she had quested, she had adventured. The magic and power she wielded had seen her through times of upheaval and of serenity; of wonder and fantasy; of friends, family, and love. She had lived a long time, longer than many due to her magic, and through happiness and sadness, she had truly lived. Alvarel did not begrudge her age. She was respected. She spent a great deal of time in the palace library, organizing her erratic thoughts and memories, writing everything down.
