The male he was commissioned to kill was a politician. Obviously he had stepped on some peoples toes. A well know banker had contacted him a few week ago and offered him a large sum of money if he would kill a person who had tried to scam a large amount of money from him.
Lawson didn't actually care too much about the money he got - it was a nice side effect of his work but he was more interested in the killing itself and since he was nearly only working for most influential people he never had any serious problems with the police.
Lawson loved everything about his job. He loved the power in his hands to decide over life and death. It gave him a real thrill.
He could see how his target moved around gesticulating wildly at his bodyguards. Did he knew he was in danger? Maybe but now it was too late. The man turned around and Lawson pulled the trigger. It happened fast. The bulled tore through the window and hit the mans heart, killing him immediately. Lawson enjoyed the disbelieving look in his eyes just a second before he hit the ground. He savored in the feeling of power while the bodyguards came running out of the house, scanning the area with their eyes. They would soon knew from where he had shot from but he'd be gone by this point of time.
Lawson quickly took the rifle to pieces, stored it in a ordinary looking sports bag and made his way down the roof. Back down on the street he could already hear the police cars sirens coming nearer. Lawson opened the trunk lid and threw the bag into the spare room. He walked around his car to the driver's door and climbed in. He drove past the police cars, which came racing toward the scene of crime while Lawson grabbed his cellphone, calling a certain number. A deep sounding male voice was heard on the other end.
»Job done.«, said Lawson coldly and with these words he ended the call, grinning widely.
