Ayano is Japanese, and means "of colour, from love".
She was young, she was beautiful. Her soul was lit by music, she lived and breathed by song. She could steal the very breath from your lungs with a single note of her voice. She enchanted all those who came to hear her, to watch her, to fall in love with her. Her name was Carmen, and she was one of the best and most beautiful opera singers in the world.
He was talented, broad-shouldered. He could carry a note to perfection or he could scream it out loud and still manage to make it bliss for the ears. He could shred a guitar until all hours of the night, he could play the drums until morning. He barely had a care in the world, and that's what made him so appealing to his fans, especially the ladies. His name was Axl, and he was one of the best and most confident rockstars in the world.
Their meeting was by chance, their falling in love was fate. Their story could fit in with any other of the greatest romance novels, it was just simply meant to be.
It was the opening night of one of the city's grand operas, and one of the firsts. It was cold outside, but the audience was warmed by the warm melodies that tickled their ears and filled their hearts. The stage was beautifully lit, and people from across the country came to see. Every seat was filled, every box was sold out.
Axl was coaxed into going by his band - an opera was something they wouldn't normally attend. They figured they'd make a joke visit out of it, to "broaden" their horizons they would mock. Since their name was well-known, of course, they got one of the rows closest to the grand stage. Axl was nestled in the middle of his band, leaning back with his feet resting on the chair in front of him, getting odd exchanging looks from the other patrons.
The lights dimmed and the whole audience faded into darkness, the stage as well. Then, a single spotlight lit the middle of the floor, and the chattering audience became dead silent. The curtains opened slightly, and a slender woman stepped out. She was wrapped in a beautiful dress that clung her in all the right places, then fell and covered the floor around her feet. Her hair was pinned up with loose pieces falling all around her face, and her eyes sparkled in the spotlight.
Axl leaned forward as he felt his eyes widen, his mouth becoming a gape as he took in the most beautiful sight he had ever seen. He could feel himself go numb as he took in a hard gulp, his palms becoming sweaty as the gripped the arm rests.
The woman opened her lips, and the most beautiful sound errupted from the deepest part of her heart. She began to sing, her voice carrying over the crowd, entrancing each and every one of them. Needless to say, she got a standing ovation in the end.
When the show was over, she carried herself out one of the back doors, huddled into a big faux fur coat to keep her warm. She was about to step onto one of the back sideways when Axl stepped infront of her, a forced, nervous smile on his face. "You were... you were amazing." He said in a breathless tone, though it was clear he hadn't been running or using up much energy.
Carmen was taken aback at first from the surprise of his sudden appearance, but her eyes warmed as a smile lit her face. "Thank you." She nodded to him, stepping to the side as to pass.
"Wait," he said after her as he reached out his hand, "I'm Axl ... I don't know if you've heard of me, but ... I'm not kidding when I say I've never experienced anything like that in my life before, and I've been around if you know what I mean." He chuckled, then blushed at his own jest.
A light flow of giggles bubbled up from her, taking his hand and shaking it with her own. "You're that rockstar, I've heard of you. I happen to enjoy your music very much, I think I might have CD of it around here somewhere ..." She murmured as she looked through her purse before pulling out a CD. "I keep all my favorites close to me."
Axl smiled broadly, seeming ecstatic that she would have his CD. A woman of such art and talent, with his CD. "I ... I have to admit I'm a little surprised, I wouldn't think such a classy lady would listen to the kind of music me and my boys make."
Carmen smiled and laughed lightly, shaking her head with a giggle. "You'd be surprised at what I happen to like. I get inspired by all songs, Axl. Every sort of song in the world."
"You ... wouldn't want to go for some coffee would you?" He asked her with a hopeful look, a tint of love-struck desperation in his eyes.
"I would love nothing more."
As the years passed, the two continued to grow fond of one another. He would attend every single one of her concerts, and she would attend every single one of his. They even made music together, her beautiful voice making his powerful notes whole.
Before they knew it, they were married, and she was resting peacefully in a hospital bed. He was at her side, holding her hand and cooing to her as she held a small bundle in her arms. "Let's call him ... Ayano." She whispered, a smile on her face. He smiled back at her, kissing her forehead, then the forehead of his son. "Yeah... Ayano. It's perfect..."
