It seemed innocent enough in the beginning to Nel. She wanted the last cream puff. They were hard to come by in Hueco Mundo. Actually, everything was hard to come by in a place like this. They had to import (which meant steal from human convenience stores during patrols) many comforts from the living world. Szayelaporro's pink hair dyes came from an expensive hair salon. Her cream puffs came from a bakery across the street from the hair salon. It had been a long time since she last sent Dondochakka to the living world.

Just before she placed a hand in the pastry box, a voice from the doorway said, "Nelliel!"

She turned. "Nnoitora? What is it?"

"That last cream puff is mine!"

"Why? I stole them."

"Everyone else got one! Even that bastard, Wonderweiss, and I'm not sure he even knows how to eat! Why shouldn't I?"

"You killed those prematured hollows unnecessarily during our scouting mission today. I'd much rather give the cream puff to someone who may or may not eat than you."

"They were weak! They were practically asking for their asses to get beat."

"Why would you think that kind of reasoning would ever work on me? You're a beast. Beasts don't get to eat sweets."

Nnoitora grinded his teeth at the word "beast", but he ignored it. He would get back at her someday for that. "Fine. How about I challenge you for it?"

"Really." she replied flatly.

"Come on! Best out of three gets it!" He raised his sword, Santa Teresa, and leveled it at Nelliel's neck.

She eyed the curved blades wearily. He always got like this after missions. "How about something less uh. Pointy. It's just a cream puff."

"You're just scared!"

Nelliel ignored him. "What about rock-paper-scissors? Best out of three."

"What? What the hell kind of stupi-"

"If you won't play, I'll give this last one to Wonderweiss."

Nnoitora's face twisted as he had a brief inner battle between his pride and his dignity. His pride won. Marginally. "All right. Best out of three."

Thirty minutes later...

"Best out of 30!"

"You said that already."

"Best out of 40!"

One hour later...

"Aaaaaaarrrrrrgggghhhh!" said Nnoitora.

Nelliel stared apprehensively at the vein popping in Nnoitora's temple. "Best out of 120?"

"Raaaaaarrrrrrgggghhh!"
