He has a penchant for gold, trinkets, sparkly things, ladybugs, flowers, and nuts of all kind
His hobbies include playing the panpipes (which he is the best at), adventuring, and eating
He's a happy go lucky fellow who's best friend is a forest creature of unknown origins

All of the fairies in the forest has tried unsuccessfully to communicate with the oddball with no such luck
The only so far so seems to understand the critter is Jolly and so the two became fast friends
Jolly named the creature Peanut because that's his favorite snack and because it was the first thing that came to mind
Peanut is often seen drooling and staring off into space.
The royal counsel often chide him for hanging out with an incompetent being but Jolly has never listened to them before and wasn't going to start anytime soon
His parents too had tried to control their son, but has long given up

One day while on one of their many adventures
Jolly and Peanut stumbled upon an mysterious hut
Being the prince of Brethil, Jolly had always though of everything in the forest as his and so went in
In the hut, the two adventurers upturned everything in their way
Finding nothing of interest, Jolly was about to leave when he spotted something
Gleaming, the object sparkled a brilliant gold as sunlight shone upon it
He picked the gold jewled box
Carefully, he pushed the heavy lid open and found a delicate gold necklace
The engravings and handy work was so intricate that it was easy to see it was a masterpiece
An item worthy of a prince to wear
And so, he hastily put it upon himself and searched for a mirror to admire his image

So absorbed in his reflection that he failed to hear the soft creak of the door
Peanut, being gifted with a keen sense of hearing frantically tried to warn Jolly
[i]Peanut, stop bothering me, can't you see I'm in the middle of something?[/i]

Suddenly, he feels a boney and cold hand grab him by the shoulders
[i]So, the prince of Brethil Forest thinks he has the right to steal from me? Me, who has lived for thousands of years in this forest? My name has been feared long before you were even born!
Since you seem to love gold trinkets so much then let me grant your wish!
*cackles*

Jolly felt a cold numbness come over his body and then blackness

Waking up, he saw that he was no longer in the small hut
Instead, he was now at the water's edge of a pound
Everything was peaceful
Butterflies were floating about, the grass was dancing to the wind, and the bird were singing
Breathing a huge sigh of relief, Jolly flinched
Big bruises covered his entire body, probably from his fall he pondered
Peanut, seeing that he was finally awake fussed over him
[i]It's alright Peanut, I only got a few bruises and scratches[/i]
Seeing an acorn nearby he picked it up and prepared to soothe his hunger
In a flash, the acorn started to change color, creeping up and covering the earthly brown nut was a sparkling gold
Jolly now knew what the witch had meant when she said she would grant him his wish
He reached out for a flower to test his theory, again, the flower turned into solid gold

Gasping, he scrambled to his feet and stared at his hands
How was he ever going to cure this?
