The moist squishy ground beneath her paws felt good and comforting as she padded down the path.
The forest was dim and sunbeams speared the dimness every so often.
Only the sound of animals, the breeze and her faint sounds of breathing kept her company.
She knew she aught to hurry but to race through the forest seemed like disrespecting the serene beauty of the place.
Despite knowing she'd irritate Omega she padded along quietly.

As she neared the edge of the forest she caught wind of Omega's scent and her tail wagged with happiness.
As she exited the trees she saw him, the flames of his coat flickering and wavering in the faint breeze.
He looked up at her and stood watching her, his tail wagging slightly.
He's always been the serious and silent type and it wasn't in his nature to fling caution to the wind and run up to her.
The fact that he barely controlled his tail made her aware at how happy he was to see her and indicated he was impatient that she get closer.

She increased her pace and trotted to him nuzzling his face and rubbing her side along his shoulder.
He growled softly and sat down looking at her.
"Let me guess... You couldn't bring your self to hurry yet again to come and meet me?"

Baww laughed and flopped on to her side with a huff "It always seems disrespectful."
Omega sighed and shook his head "To think I suffer thus just because my mate can't take a bit more of a fast pace to see me. How unfair this life is..."

Baww batted at Omega's nose with her left paw "It's in a females nature to make our males wait. It makes you learn patience and to savor the moment when we show up, you should know that."
Omega bared his teeth in mock anger then laid down next to her resting his head over her shoulders.
They finally caught a moment alone from the family and their human, it felt good to be alone.
