We are not the first to have set foot on the mystical land of subeta. Long before the world of subeta was opened to the 'public', they had their own people living here. The pets you see now, also lived back then. Many were undiscovered, and much like in our world, bovynes were used for milk, telenines to pull a sledge, and so forth. A few of the exotic colors you know now, also weren't part of that world. Graveyard only came out when someone decided to mess with corpses, realising their mistake too late. That story is also part of how reborn pets came to be.

But this story, isn't about either of those aspects. It's about a family that lived high up the mountain hills between what is now Riverside and Peka Glade. The family of five, one daughter and two sons, had a little farm. Their farm had to provide everything for them, as they were too far away from any other house or shop. That's the reason why they have a small herd of sheetas and bovynes. They also had two telenines to guard the whole property, since jollins, unknown by then but framed as the devil's thieves, would frequently try and steal food.

A beautiful day amidst spring, around the time that sheeta-lambs were born. The family was out of luck however, none of their sheetas were pregnant. It had its bad sides and good sides; they wouldn't have an extra lamb to have to feed at the end of the year, but they would also be out of an extra sheeta for their herd.

It was as if a certain female sheeta wasn't feeling quite well, though. She often, without any notice sat down and looked as if she was struggling. Luckily the eldest son had noticed and led her inside the stall so she could have some rest. "You're going to be okay Tahlee" he smiled and scratched her head. Slowly, though, he started to recognise the signs of pregnancy. He was amazed and ran out to get his father and mother to help the sheeta. Nobody even paid attention to the fact that this particular sheeta hadn't been in contact with a ram.

Tashee was a beautiful dusk sheeta. He was the first dusk sheeta to to be part of the herd. Fur-colors were often random, as sheetas had genes that led back to all of their ancestors. Therefor, they could be any color.

The youngest daughter of the family, Voile, had come up with the name for the sheeta. It was her birthday afterall when Tashee was born, so that got to be her present. She was standing on the fence, her little arms reaching down to touch the sheeta, but she didn't quite get there. Tashee was too shy to stand up to reach her hand and ducked away a bit.

Voile pouted and looked at her mom with a questioning expression. "Well Voile, not all lambs are the same, some are outgoing, and some are a bit shy. But when he grows up, you can be bestest buddies" she smiled.

Late at night, Voile would stand up in her bed, looking through her window. Her eyes followed the movements of Tashee, who occasionally looked up at her. And she continued to wonder when they could be best buddies.

It was autumn, about to turn to winter, and the family was nearly out of food. Though, they made sure their pets weren't short of anything.

Amorei and Midas sat down at the kitchen table, eating their soup as the children were outside playing with their telenines before they had to go to bed. "Remember that book" the father mumbled, his mouth full of soup. "We can't Midas", Amorei replied, as she knew who was going to be picked. "We have to, and you know it" he replied and added "Tomorrow evening". "But Midas, he was Voile's birthday present" she whispered.

Midas looked at her "Birthdays are useless when it comes to surviving" he spat. He threw his spoon back in the soup and went upstairs. Amorei cursed a little as she knew that the spots of tomato soup wouldn't come out of her dress anymore.

Midas dragged Tashee into the stall in the back by his two back legs. The two sons stood in the entrance of the stall, quitely looking at the floor. "Get your mother and Voile" Midas calmly ordered. "Does she really have to witness this father?" Erick asked.

"It's not about Voile or this lamb, Erick. It's about the Gods, whom we have to pay our respects to, if we want to survive in these damned mountains" he replied. Erick gave a short nod, and got to get his mother and sister. One of their telenines was closely by his side, as it was already dark outside.

The herd of sheetas stood in front of the exit of the field. Not blocking it, but around it. Some were grazing, others looked up at him with a bored look on their face. But one of them had an expression of disgust, and as he passed she turned her head away from him.

A loud yelp was heard, and a few more came, before it was dead silent.

Tashee was gone, or atleast that's what the family believes. They also believe in luck coming their way. Sheetas are respected ancient animals you should not harm or be cruel to.

The lamb's spirit was so afraid of what was happening that during the event, it managed to pull itself from the body and hid in Voile. Tashee's spirit, or rather, Golem, continued to struggle for control over Voile's body, with her own spirit. Golem wants control over Voiles body so he can fully leave his behind.

Where is his? It wanders around at night with the herd, looking up at the window Voile stares through occasionally at night.

Oh, and they sure are best buddies now.

It's not like I'm no longer able to see. I've seen you steal countless times from our herd, and you will pay for it.
