The secluded town of Ambrooke sits nestled between the rising mountains of Gnoor and the great Sea of Ladune. It's a city riddled with folklore, legend and tradition. It's most treacherous and intimidating qualms being that of a monster living beneath the surface of the fresh water sea.

Lavyathin has been lurking in the shadows for centuries. A mythical creature spawned in the depths... origin unknown... greatly misunderstood and feared. A beast? Of course, but a creature worthy of our esteemed acknowledgement and reverence. Over the years ships have met unfortunate ends; fishermen have gone missing; tourists vanish and equipment is destroyed. Yet the people of Ambrooke still do not heed the simple warnings. They begin to panic at the first signs of a disturbance in the water, a misplaced wave or the sight of something large moving beneath the vessel. Their inability to comprehend the language of the deep always leads to panic. They overcompensate, let their minds race, worry or forget how to function altogether causing malfunctions and chaos. Unfortunately, Lavyathin always takes the blame, whether the cause or not. A scapegoat of nautical society. If only he hadn't tried so hard to communicate during that first encounter. If only he hadn't let himself be seen. Things in this age could be different.
