Leia Amidala Skywalker never knew her birth parents- she never even knew her adoptive parents were not her birth parents. Perhaps it was fortunate that she remained ignorant, for surely the knowledge that her father was the most loathsome tyrant next to the Emperor was an unnecessary burden on top of being the Princess of Alderaan, a role she grew into only later in life. Her adoptive aunts, anxious that their niece plays the proper princess, took to dressing her in the latest courtly fashions and grooming her in court etiquette, but the endeavor amounted to nothing more than a deeply unpleasant ordeal for both parties.

While Leia had neither the patience nor the aptitude for behaving like a mannequin, her diplomatic talents were prodigious and she quickly found herself the youngest ever serving in the Imperial Senate. She was a founding member of the Rebel Alliance and was never far from the frontline in her struggle for freedom, and later served as Supreme Chancellor of the New Republic. She is married to Han Solo and together they have three children.
