I was born when the Earth was born. I have watched civilizations rise and fall. I have watched countless wars and seen hundreds die. Yet, from my cloud, I yearn to join them. Mortals, to me, seem unaware how perfect their lives are. Sure they may lose someone close to them at some point, but they will always be reunited with them in the afterlife. I, on the other hand, am forced to watch the years pass without ever looking any different. I have never experienced "love" or any other emotions. I have continued to live the same life for millions of years, and will live the same life in the years to come.

I had to stand by and watch as my friend defended herself against the council I am apart of. I watched as they banished her to Earth for not only touching a mortal, but for being in love with one. My pleas to keep her living with us fell on deaf ears. Now I watch as my friends heart grows darker with each passing day as she plots her revenge on the one that made her fall. I watch helplessly, since being an Archangel myself, I cannot go to Earth and help her. I will never be able to understand these feelings that Adored is having. I will never be shunned as she has, that is, unless I send myself down to join her.

Casting oneself down to Earth willingly does not happen easily. Only one person can cast out those who wish to leave of their own accord. But to convince Him is almost as impossible as proving we Angels exist to a non-believer. I am frightened of leaving my home, afraid of regretting my mistake. Perhaps one day I will be able to make that decision, but for now I stay put, watching my friend slowly wither away.
