It's hot here, in the depths of the swamp. The sun beats down on the thick, overhanging trees, only reaching the mire in thin, golden fingers. The heat comes from the ancient compressed layers of generations of plant life, decomposing into rich, black, stinking ooze. The steam rises off it in tendrils, drifting through the sunlight.Riding tiny thermals, a small bright member of the order lepidoptera dances circles through the dense fog, flashing sapphire in the gloom. The little blue butterfly floats downward slowly, coming to land in a shaft of honey colored sunlight, fanning its wings slowly, in and out.The butterfly, she never sees it coming.With an unrestrained roar of triumph, Gurg the Swampuppy bursts from hiding in a flurry of foliage, floppy paws splayed, tongue lolling from a toothy puppy grin. The jewel-colored butterfly disappears in a sloppy spray of black, stagnant swamp mud, as Gurg stamps two large victorious pawprints deep into the damp earth."Taaaaag YOU'RE IT!!"With a mad, spinning caper that sends mud flying in every direction, Gurg chases his tail around three times in a full circle before dashing away into the shadows, whooping happily.Behind him, a tiny fleck of blue twitches spasmodically in the ooze. The bedraggled butterfly flutters out of the mire, shakes herself off, and follows unsteadily after her enthusiastic friend, deeper into the swamp.Thank you to @looshkin for the description
