Red stared at some of the passing people. Curious children ran up to him, tilting there heads in wonder. "Mommy! It's a monster!" Shrieked one of the children, retreating back to its Mother. Red rolled back onto his back, ignoring the cries of the child. He was used to being called a 'monster' or other harsh names. He wasn't like all the other pets in the adoption center. All the others we're sweet and loving, easy to melt the the heart. But not Red. He was 'unlovable' as he called himself. He was just not used to human contact, unsure as to how to act when petted or handled. He would always snarl at them, not noticing that his aggressive personality is what drew people away.

Nuzzling the cage door, wishing it would magically open and free him, he whined. Red was caught off the streets and was placed into this horrid place when he was much younger. He hated being separated from his sister, and despised being caged in. He trashed his forelegs up at the metal ceiling that hung only inches above him. Suddenly a human came racing in front of him. It was a chubby youngster, clutching a hot dog. He tempted Red with it, saying things like "You dumb animal! Want my hot dog?" Red leaped to his paws, tail wagging intensively. The boy shoved it into the cage, just inches from Red's snout. Breathing in the delicious scent of meat, Red went to take a bite, but just before his fangs meet the food, the boy snatched it away. The boy fell over in laughter, finding it funny that he had tricked Red. Red didn't find this funny though. Not at all.

Red let out a vicious bark, snarling with menace in his eyes. His back paws tightened, ready to leap forward like a spring. He sprang forward like a mighty tiger, and a loud clang echoed through the air. He had barged down his own cage door.

Landing on top of the boy, he growled mightily. Revenge was locked in Red's mind. The boy screeched in terror, as Red clawed at his chest. Deep wounds formed on his ribs, and his scream could be heard for miles. People raced out of the adoption center, screaming in fear. The people that managed the place, 'white coats' as Red called them, ran towards him clutching a net. Red sprang off the boy, and tumbled for the door. The white coats weren't fast enough. Red speed through the door way, sending people sprawling.

Barking like a mad dog, he raced through the streets, blinded by the city's lights. He ran and ran. Not bothering to stop for anything, afraid he'd be captured. A teen with curly brown hair, and honey colored eyes, came into view. She wore a regular t-shirt and jeans, but was walking something out of the ordinary. She was walking another hydrous pet (Wish Upon A Star, my other pet :P Yes I'm walking her xD). Red raced to her, feeling the faint feeling of hope. Maybe she can help me! Maybe! He thought, barking like mad. The girl turned her head, seeing Red come towards her. She didn't scream in fear. No, she just smiled warmly and dropped to her knee's. "Come here boy!" She said kindly, patting her knee's. Red obeyed, and raced into her arms. It felt strange for Red. Being hugged by such a stranger was odd, but he needed someone to help him stay safe.

"You look tired! Such a cute little creature shouldn't be starved. Come on, I'll feed ya something at home!" She said softly, grinning ear to ear. Wish, the other pet she was walking, craned her head at Red. She smiled, then whispered "Your going to love Rebecca. She's very kind."
