"No Gustaf, that simply is not good enough!" Henrik cried out in anger as he batted away the offending wine, sending the glass rolling off of the table edge, "I want something sweet, yet crisp, a wine which is ample and deep - not any of this cheap poorly made rubbish you insist on forcing down my throat." Gustaf hastily apologised, hoping to sooth his masters' temper. He quickly swept up the shattered crystal before hurrying out to the foyer, leaving Henrik alone to dwell on his thoughts.

Henrik got up and sighed; it was no good, it seemed that nobody knew how to make a good wine these days. Was it so much to ask for a wine which combined a pleasing blend of texture and taste or a wine which subtly infused different elements from across the globe? He certainly didn't think so. Being a world renowned wine connoisseur did have its perks but he honestly couldn't remember the last time he had really enjoyed a bottle.

The more he thought about it, the more frustrated he became and consequently the more positive he was that something had to be done about it, most likely by him. For he knew all the jargon, was more than familiar with the techniques, had visited the top vineyards across the world, knowing which produced the most succulent grapes and when, and also how to identify the best vintages. How could he turn a blind eye when he had this wealth of knowledge at his fingertips? Therefore, in a moment of clarity, he took matters into his own hands to ensure that he would be able to thoroughly relish a good glass of wine once more.

He grabbed the bell off of the table and summoned Gustaf who came in gasping slightly after sprinting from the pantry. "I've figured it out!" he said to him excitedly whilst pacing backwards and forwards, "All of these mediocre wines disgust me and I cannot bear the thought of drinking another drop. The talent laid forth by generations of successful winemakers has been squandered and I am now certain that it is only I who can remedy this for I am the bearer of the most refined palette in the business after all. I will be damned if these fools think that they can continue to rob me of my gold."

He paused now and gazed steadily at Gustaf before continuing, "My knowledge of wine is unrivalled and no one person has sampled more than I. Therefore, it is my intention to create the perfect wine, one which will be fit for a God, so idyllic will it be in its union of depth and aroma." Henrik let his words sink in before pressing on, "Come now Gustaf, we have no time to waste if I am to scour the globe for the most marvellous ingredients! I shall create a wine akin to the sweetest ambrosia and become a very wealthy and famous man indeed, just you mark my words."

Thus, Henrik's plan was put into motion. Arrogant, pretentious and intelligent, there was no doubt in his mind that he could do it and little thought was spared for his wife and child who would endure the coming weeks and months without him. Though Inge begged him not to go, he simply would not listen, so blinded was he by his love of wine and thirst for fame. In a matter of days the ship which would carry him to the different continents on his epic quest for ingredients was ready to set sail.

Through India to Brazil and all the way round to Fiji, Henrik experimented with a whole host of new and intriguing scents, tastes and compounds. He searched with increasing intensity for the missing ingredient, the element which would act as a catalyst to transform the average wine. Toying with raging hot spices to sweet juicy mango, with each new ingredient that he tried he believed that he took one step closer to achieving perfection.

Appearance: Henrik is of average height with pale, milky skin and jet black hair. Always adorned in the finest fabrics and the most luxurious gems, there is an air of entitlement about him. He was once an attractive man but the years spent gorging on delicacies certainly shows; his gut protrudes like a melon, you can barely see a neck underneath those chins and his limbs are thick and stocky.
