Before, her only concern was with herself and her pet. She loved the dark side of life, or what she thought was the dark side. Now she knows. Her life was lightyears brighter before she called upon the spirits.
She thought it was the next step – talking to those beyond. She didn’t take precautions. She didn’t know. She didn’t mean to let him in. Really. Please. It was a mistake.
The nightmares are getting worse. She can’t look in the mirror anymore. She can’t look herself in the eye. She had a friend. He was a happy little creature. Giddy. There are bloodstains where he used to sit. His corner. The tree is dripping blood. But is it real? Is any of it?
The nightmares are getting worse. It’s not a dream journal anymore. It’s filled with nightmares. All start the same. She tries to change the ending, but it never makes any difference.
Ghost white with fright. Black rimmed eyes to hide the shadows. He brought the shadows. He brought them across the gate. Pearls are nowhere to be seen. Only dark rusted iron. The gate. There’s no light anymore. Only a life is left. It’s a nightmare.
Succubi is a young girl who thought dabbling in the art of magic would be a fun, harmless, activity.
Her first few spells were wonderful successes, and gave her a false sense of security. She started out with small spells: lighting one candle, then five, then ten; summoning a wind; summoning fire; summoning a spirit. The spirit was her greatest achievement. She read in one of her old spell books about a race of tiny beings (sometimes called "elves" of "fairies" ) that were extremely friendly and gentle, and with the right preparation, Succubi was able to transport one of the little elves to her room. He was, just as described by the old spell book, ridiculously happy. He was so excited to see Succubi, and Succubi was just as excited to see that the spell had worked.
Her sense of accomplishment grew with every spell and charm she created. She started overlooking details, and while her spells would still work, there were little defects. Of course, Succubi didn't notice these, she just focused on the success. It was this attribute that led to her greatest mistake.
Succubi opened the Gates of Hell and let the demon Devon through. She didn't safeguard her spell, so she couldn't close the Gates before he burst through into her world. Devon haunts her dreams, her mornings, her days, her entire life. He lives, so to speak, for her fear. He craves it. And she gives it to him.
