t had been quite a while since Solraen was human. She could hardly even remember what it felt like. For a few weeks, she despaired and fought against the pull of the sea, but one day it came to her to just let go. She let the waters pull her. She drifted along. It felt divine to just swim and not fight against anything. Every once in a while, she'd be reminded of him, though. Her love, Ryujinshi... she would wonder where he was now...That felt like forever ago. She had eventually wound up near Omen Island. For some reason, the inhabitants would run away from her at first, but they seemed to realize she wasn't a threat eventually. She explained to them that she was once human and that she had somehow become cursed and transformed into what they now saw. They then told her of a witch named Merana who had received a similar curse, but warned her against seeking her out.
And so, Solraen was at a loss. With a curse like this, how could she ever find Ryujinshi again? There would be no way of keeping a relationship going when they couldn't even realistically interact. She supposed, after all, that anyone going through with this curse would be unable to reverse it. But perhaps if she found out who cursed her in the first place, she could find that person and they would cure her.
The islanders shrugged when she questioned them about it. They didn't know the details. Solraen knew of only one thing to do. She had to find Merana.
