Hobbies: Gardening, reading, and collecting various teas.

Kindrie stared out the window, his tea growing cold. His expression mirrored the chilly morning. Down below, his cousins said their goodbyes. Torisen was off again on another of his business trips and Kindrie could see the pain written on Jame's face. He hated it when she made that face. And it wasn't because she was upset. No. It was because she wasn't upset over him. Maybe that made him petty and selfish, but he didn't care. He'd been keeping feelings like that bottled up for years; ever since they were all small children. He was used to pretending to feel nothing for her. But he relished the fact that they would be alone together while Tori was gone. He would be there to soothe and comfort her. He would be her hero. And maybe, just maybe she would forget about Torisen.
*ahem!* Startled, Kindrie turned to see his Uncle Tirandys standing in the doorway, a sneer on his face. "You know pretending to be the nice guy will only get you so far. If you really want her, you should be more assertive."
Kindrie turned towards his uncle and scowled. "You have such a dirty mind. You know I don't feel that way about her." He reached for his tea and took a quick sip, a grimace spreading over his face. The tea was ice cold now. "But he's right, isn't he?" Kindrie thought to himself. "If I want her to return my feelings I need to tell her how I feel first?"
II.
The soil was still cold but not unyielding. A slight breeze blew through the mansion's grounds. It was unseasonably warm for this time of year, but still chilly. It looked like the crocuses had already come in and the daffodils were starting to sprout. Kindrie smiled. Those were his favorites.
Most people wore gloves when they worked in their gardens, especially at this time of year in New England... but not him. He liked the way the soil felt on his fingertips. Damp, cool, and somehow so comforting. This was his safe place. No one in the world could bother him here.
III.
Looking up from the base of the live oak, the sky seemed endless. Rolling white clouds over an expansive blue sky was just the thing to put him in the drawing mood. He sighed and looked down from the sky to his journal where a half finished drawing of some tulips sat patiently awaiting his attention. As he started to draw again, something else caught his eye. Jame had fallen asleep on her own side of the huge base of the tree. The expression on her face was so tranquil. He wondered what she was dreaming about. He assumed it was something nice. Her eyes flickered a bit and Kindrie quickly turned the page of his journal. He started to sketch; a little something to remember this moment by.
