Personality:
She’s quite happy-go-lucky and friendly; Very likeable. This makes up 75% of her personality, however. The other 25% of her personality is serious and determined; This lies with her training and slaying of demons. Despite her hand in life she takes everything with a smile. Even her brother’s death she took with a smile, even if just for a moment. Though it was only feigned for her brother’s sake. The only person she can lose the smile with is her father. And sometimes her crush. But she doesn’t like worrying people with her frown and tears, so she sucks it up.
History:
Tibet; On vacation from their shrine, wife 4 months pregnant, they never expected the events that would leave Rayne a bloody corpse.
It all started when a demon started stalking Ichijo, having sensed his spiritual power and identified his demon killing blade at his hip. It came from behind wearing a human guise and grabbed Rayne by the scruff of neck, jumping away with her to prevent from being struck down by Ichijo’s blade.
Hissing a whisper into screaming female’s ear, he landed on a high ledge of a cliff face that came up along side of village, sheltering it. He whispered another piece of advice into her ear and dropped her, her shocked blues eyes staring at the demon as she landed on her feet, legs shattering under her weight, and fell onto her back, blacking out.
Ichijo didn’t even kill the demon for fear of not getting to his wife in time. He hurried to wife’s mangled form, a stern set in his jaw. He then noticed that water was seeping into the bloody mess that was her legs and deduced that the baby was coming, trying to save itself. He pressed his hands together over the hilt of his blade and pulled it out of it’s sheath, calling forth the help of family spirit creature, a large dragon looking beast, and loaded his unconscious wife tenderly onto it’s back, then clenched it’s furry side. With a thought they vanished and reappeared back in his hometown.
The demon disappeared back into blade and he rushed wife into hospital. When the nurses saw them thy scrambled, getting her into an emergency room to start operating. That was the last time Ichijo saw his wife alive.
3 hours after Rayne went into surgery a baby was able to be viewed by father. Hooked up to machines and tubes to help her breathing, in an incubator to keep her from freezing and to regulate temperature, and kept in a sterile room to prevent getting sick. Ichijo was only able to view his daughter through glass. It was the first time he was ever truly afraid in his life. After losing his beloved wife, he wasn’t sure if he could lose the last living women that had taken hold of his heart.
It was five months of visits, five months of spending no time with his son, before he could safely bring her home to her elder brother. Five months of worry that she might possibly die because he was unable to protect she or her mother. Right when she was old enough to hold a wooden blade she was in training as an exorcist. He wouldn’t let her get killed by a demon like her mother because of lack of training and skill. He wouldn’t allow it.
At age 10, one day away from being 11, her father took her out on a mission with her 19 year old brother to exorcise a group of nasty little demons… But the mission went wrong. A demon landed a hit on Alex’s calf with it’s poisonous claws, and another seared his flesh off his body as he was busy decapitating first. Everything seemed to speed up around her as she watched her beloved brother and the family spirit creature go down. Ichijo grabbed up Alex’s sword and drew the spirit out again, vanquishing the rest of the demons in a fit of urgency.
They were able to get him back to the house later that night, around eleven, and had him stable, as stable as possible. They all knew that he would not be able to be saved, even by trained doctors in the hospital. Poisoned with a full body burn.
‘I won’t leave until I see you turn 11, Rae.’
That’s the last thing Alex said before he died; 12:01 AM - March 15th.
