Spring was long,
the sun is strong.
Now it's time
for Neydefin's song.

She jumps along a dry path and hums her favorite song. Shaking her head to the left and the right, she's joyful as ever.
That's Neydefin Kashu, or Nifkashu, the spirit of summer.

The sun is burning from the sky.
Where she walks, the path is dry.
Making beats like a drummer
Attention, everyone! Here comes the summer!

"La la la, ladada~" She sings and dances, flies a bit. "Oh well, what a beautiful day. What a beautiful summer day."
Finally, she arrives on the beach. Sand, sand everywhere. The waves crash and her eyes begin to shine. "What a perfect beach!"

Fur, red as cherries,
freckles like summer flies.
The color varies,
on her wings, made for the skies.

Like crazy she runs into the ocean and swims around. She's surfing on her tails, dives for shells, builds sandcastles. Nif is just in her element. Lazy is a word she doesn't know. Always up to something, always running around, that's what she is like. She is the one, that has got a plan for everything, boring days? She doesn't know them.

She is always happy,
her moves are so snappy.
When she sees the sun,
she's about to have fun
and she starts to act wacky.

As the sun goes down, Nifkashu collects wood and starts to make a fire. One of her friends, a firefly, joins her every evening and spends time with her. Today he brought his friends along. Some humans notice the fire and come along, too. They dance, barbecue, tell stories and sing.
"It's just the best time of the year!" Say some of the humans and Nif almost breaks their backs with hugging because she's so happy. Little flames start to burn on her ears.
