When they first meet him, he is all class and pleasantries. Nothing resembling apples or even worms. He greets them comely, offers a cup of tea and sits them down to listen to their problems.

And that is where their troubles begin.

It starts subtly - a hinting of payment, which they would kindly succumb due to his charm and oozing, velvet voice - and then it escalates - the longer you are his client, it seems, the more he shows himself - until it rises to an off-pitch crescendo. Luckily he is competent enough to solve cases before it gets to that point, but for those who know him personally, they are aware.

They are tolerant of him. They have given up on him, and now accept him for who he is. It is no use fighting back, for though he can be caring and stop, he will return again. Which is why they are amazed when they witness communications between him and other people. So kind, so friendly and absolutely magnetic. Where did that sardonic and ruthless devil go? It always seems like he has two personalities.

He is indeed the best professional, yet the worst person for the job.
