Description:

Firstborn into a reigning family of powerful Demon Lords, Kray was intended to be a feared figure. Fate had other plans for the blood-haired son of Fae and Kurse Lucius.

The castle he was raised in was one of intense training and strict upbringing. The young boy was the eldest of three siblings, two younger brothers and a middle sister. Though he showed more promise in power, intelligence, and raw ability [especially spiritually], what he lacked was the raw and most desired and essential element to his family name and desired future—Kray was not evil. When his siblings were learning to torture people to get information, or the fastest way to kill a group of people with different powers or abilities in a few seconds, Kray was outside nursing a falcon back to health.

Furious by their eldest and most promising son’s lack of concentration in the dark arts, his parents punished Kray in any way they could find, hoping to sway his conscience. Tongue-lashings, beatings, torture sessions, malnourishment, and pointless slaughter of innocents were not uncommon methods of control. At first the threat of hurting others helped them to control him, but soon Kray decided he’d rather reject killing others himself and allow them to die then protect who he could later in life, rather than allow himself to become his family and kill throughout his life. Less life would be sacrificed. In the end, he would become what his parents loathed.

But he knew it would be years before he gained enough power to turn on them. Until then, he trained, studied, and grew. He kept them satisfied by learning dark magic, by making constant alliances with demons or dark lords, by slowly rising in status until he had become a Demon Lord himself.

It would be these same connections that would lead to his future power.

While still a youth, he would wander outside, refusing his lessons and avoiding his family. While they searched for him—for he learned young how to mask his power—he came across someone special in his life.

Seraphae, a young slave girl owned by a more powerful friend of the family’s, attempted more than often to escape her master’s mansion, which stood on Kray’s family’s lands. It was during one of these mad dashes for escape that the two crossed paths. She begged for his help, but he was far too young to save her from the demons that had been sent to retrieve her. Kray swore he would rescue Seraphae at any cost, horrified by the look in her eyes.

The experience was all he required.

Over the next fee centuries he rose in power and strength. Kray built alliances and met Grae. He made a deal with the undead son of a family ally. Grae’s lands were vast; he could not tend to the now demon-infested lands by himself. Kray was allowed to build a small kingdom on the lands, as long as he protected the entirety with his own servants.

His parents still mostly ignorant of his kind-hearted motives, Kray gathered slaves from all around the world. He went to each Demon Lord’s home, land, castle—whatever it took—and began trading. He bought and traded for their slaves, especially the worse-treated ones: women, children, weaklings. He brought them all to his home, along with the warriors that had already sworn allegiance tp him, either for pay or friendship or other means, and began to build his city.

Kray went to Seraphae’s owners, now powerful and old enough and with enough of a title to do so, and asked to buy her. They refused. He continued to set his castle and lands up, building his city, building his army, and plotting.

Years passed. A decade came and went. Kray was powerful—far more powerful than his parents had thought him capable, with his tender heart and his gentle hands. He was trained in the art of killing, in darkness, and in torture and black magics, but he was determined to use those abilities for good. His title have him abilities and opened doors to him that others lacked. Kray wanted to use his title and power for good, to save others from people like his parents.

But his goal remained to save the one woman who had inspired his transition, no matter what it took, even if it meant becoming what he loathed…

It was one dark midnight that he chose to take action. Kray snuck onto the lands and attacked the castle, killing anyone that got in his way after being warned of his intentions. He allowed himself to become what he so hated to save something he so blindly cherished. He slaughtered the Demon Lord responsible for the torture of an innocent girl, and brought a weak, tortured, frightened Seraphae home and nursed her to health.

Her arrival was the key to free his shackles. He found freedom with her presence. Kray cherished the small woman, and saw to it she was loved. He allowed her with him at all times, saw to it she was looked after when he was preoccupied; he spoiled her and gave her anything she asked. The two became inseparable. It was rare to see him without her in his shadow. Many assumed they would marry, and though she did develop a sort of crush on the Lord for a time, he was never interested in that aspect.

Besides, there was someone else reserved for his affections. But neither knew of it. Not until one fateful encounter.

Kray had made a deliberate treaty with a fellow—and very young—Dark Lord, called Liege by most. The treaty was more fragile than with most, but the two were light friends quickly; though Liege’s anger with Kray would be tested when the Demon Lord made an unexpected visit.

Injured and running from one of his many enemies, Kray stumbled to Liege’s mansion, half-dead and requesting help. With Seraphae accompanying him, Kray was brought inside. Here he found refuge—irritated but secure refuge—and here a young girl named Ixion was assigned to keep an eye on him.

She was young, small, slender, shy, and tender, and her bright-eyed innocence caused him to wonder why she would ever possibly work here under a character such as Liege. Kray was aware many servants here under his ally were not ones of the highest regards, but this girl was so innocent, nothing like a shadow warrior looking for a roof and a facility…hardly a whore or a killer. He became more and more curious as she tended to him over the next few days, and it was then that he became enamored.

Drawn in by her tenderness and apparent frailty, Kray’s wooing came to surface and they were together for a night, for quite possibly her first time he knew. He wished to pursue a relationship, feeling guilty of rushing it along—though he found she remained comfortable with him if nothing but shy, and decided to court her. It was not so simple, however, with her being a slave of Liege and having little of her own say in her life. However, luck so have it that their single night together produced a little miracle; she had become pregnant. Seraphae, the spiritualist that she was practiced to be, immediately recognized this and pointed it out in an enthusiastic fashion that surprised both never-before parents. Kray found himself with a predicament. However, Seraphae, having had a similar experience with Liege—though theirs was more an accident resulting from her past history and instincts with such men as he—was also pregnant.

Liege agreed to allow Ixion to accompany Kray to his mansion and stay there with him whilst she was pregnant, for Kray was beyond terrified that Liege or one of his Followers might hurt Ixion or the child she carried (and it provided an excuse to court her properly this time around).

While she lived with him, Kray made sure she was as happy and as comfortable as she could be, lavishing her with love and attention and a life she had been neglected of in Liege’s care. Here she would have a true home, a place of mercy and tenderness and overwhelming love and forgiveness. Kray’s adoration evolved quickly into love. He wished them to marry before the child was born, but they would have no such luck as he had put off the question until too late in her pregnancy to wed without complications.

Pet Friends

Graeve
Grae’s family owns the land upon which my Kingdom lies. He inherited it after his family was killed by Traenithe long ago. Grae is difficult to manage at times, but I find him to be good-hearted.

Traenithe
A previous rival of my family and many of my allies, Trae is now essentially dead, though lives on in a manner-of-speaking, His flesh is currently being used by the Turned Lant responsible for his doom. Either way, he remains a rather vicious threat.

Eclipse_Alpha
Alpha is responsible for taking care of my rather vast Minion collection. I’ve been gathering species for study and amusement since I separated from my family. He has a talent for animals, and enjoys his job greatly from what I can tell.

Ryuen
Ryuen is a wandering painter I met during my youth on one of my many travels while searching for myself and a new home apart from my family. Aside from being an excellent painter, he is also responsible for taking care of my gardens.

Liege Lord
My rival, ally, and pseudo-friend, Liege is a dark character who is both a friend and a threat. Let's hope that I can stop him before he murders too many innocent people in the name of his "war".

Seraphae
My Spirit-Walker and the most important of my in-house followers. Seraphae and I go back to my childhood. I rescued her, she will say, but I know she in fact was the one whom rescued me. She is currently mates with Flur, whom I saved from Liege.

Narunashk
An ally that can be rather wishy-washy at times, he's childish but when I need him, he's always there for support. I think he is considering stepping down from his position, however. The demands of his job seem too high for such a character.

Drohj
My best friend and closest advisor, Drohj was apparently sent to my aide by the God of his home realm. He is always there when needed most, and I depend upon him for much. I know he’ll fight with me until the end—but oh…how I wish he wouldn’t.

Juul_980
Liege's "Lant", I am greatly concerned about what he might do. He's incredibly insightful but his natural powers over Balance, time, matter, and space cause my nerves to tighten. Nevertheless, he seems harmless enough—for now.

Diamond Weapon
The colder of the two Weapons that currently reside in Liege’s mansion, Diamond seems to be the stronger of the two. He’s a distant figure, but I have spoken with him and believe we have an understanding about both our duties, should they cross.

Ruby Weapon
Ah, Ruby. I like him. I sense this one attempts to mimic Diamond in many ways, but how I wish he’d simply be himself. He’s far too friendly to be so elusive. He seems to be the one I could count upon the most, should I require help in the future.

Reign_369
My heritage stems from several Realms, and Lord Reign is the God of Shadows belonging to one of them. As such, my respect for him is naturally high. He’s known for his gentleness, oddly enough, but I have seen nothing that would suggest different.
