Ainsleigh is a young forest spirit. She does farm work around her home, but her real passion is inventing. She lives in a small village with her family, deep within the northern woods. It's never icy or cold in the village, however. Their magic keeps it in an everlasting spring. Ainsleigh never gave much thought to the outside world, and none of the other villagers seemed to either. One day, while in the library, Ainsleigh stumbled upon some old atlases. Suddenly curious about what was out there beyond the village, she checked them out. Paging through them, she realized that the maps extended only a few miles outside the village. 'Surely the world is larger than that' she thought. Ainsleigh questioned her family and the other villagers about the maps. Centuries ago, a few members of the clan left to explore and map the lands. However, they returned days later, unable to handle the harsh conditions of the natural climate. Since then no one has bothered leaving again. Until now that is. Ainsleigh decided that she'd be the one to complete those atlases. Stocked up on supplies of all sorts, she set out with Aisling, promising to return with not only maps, but treasures and stories from their adventures.
