Born to an ancient race of people, the Vanagans, whose lives have mostly been unknown to us as they constantly move and never settle anywhere for more than a few weeks at a time. We do know that they are green skinned people with bold colored hair and huge, violet colored eyes. While the males tend to be rather odd looking with long torsos and thin shoulders, the females are lean and graceful beauties. Most people do not look kindly upon them for they are thieves and con artists of the highest skill levels. Due to the constant moving their health suffers and most died out after a strain of colera ran through the group. Gypsy, being the daughter of the only couple who survived, had a lot that was expected of her. They had planned her marriage the day she was born to a man twice her age. He was the clans eldest survivor and a very skilled thief. He would be very desired by most but not Gypsy. Her dreams had no man in them nor did they include becoming pregnant immediately and to stay that way for years, having many children, to help grow the clan again. Risking losing the love of her parents and the only home she had ever known she ran away the day before the wedding ceremony. Telling no one of her plans she packed her meager belongings and snuck out into the cold, dark night. She lived a solitary life moving from town to town doing housework or whatever jobs she could to make enough for some food and a bed. She could easily steal what she needed without a thought but she had hated being a thief and refused to take the easy way out. One day she happened upon a skinny kitten in an alleyway crying for food at a restaurant door. She coaxed the little thing easily to her with bread she had bought for her dinner and they have been together ever since. Later that week in the next town she found a job working in a small bed and breakfast. She did her work so well that Irene, the elderly owner, asked her to stay on and offered her a nice room to stay in also. Though her head yelled 'no keep moving' she accepted and so far it was working out very nicely but how long can she resist her ingrained urge to move on? Would her Fathers people find her if she remained too long? She knows they will never stop looking for her.
