Prince Fyfe is the only royal child in the Kingdom of Snow. He was brought up in the most pleasant way possible, having a happy family with a kind King and a kind Queen.
He had his own personal guard, Lady Taiiki. He would play games with her, tell secrets, and enjoy the small things. He thought he had finally found a best friend.
On his 10th birthday, his father took his own life. His final words hurt Fyfe deeply, fear growing inside him.
'L-like... dirt?'
The nightmares started to flare up soon after that. He had lost the trust that he used to have for everyone in the kingdom, even his personal guard.
She was demoted soon after his fathers death. He wasn't told why. At the time, he didn't care. He soon got over it, after others in the kingdom kept his attention. They didn't really care for him, though. His nightmares only got worse each night, others wouldn't even care to listen. He'd wake up crying every night, having no one to talk to... no one to tell him 'it's okay.'. He feared he'd go crazy.
A year and a half had passed, he was finally fed up with it and called a contest.
'I want to hold a contest. I am in need of some new play mates.'
The contest called all different types of people in the villages below, but to Fyfe, they seemed all the same.
'Just all the same... isn't there one that'll interest me?!' He thought. He pushed them all to the limit. Finally, one stood out.
After the contest was over, he awarded this villager with the proud title of his new personal guard. He would know be known as Sir Aurtorius.
They grew very close, very fast. They were soon bonded together by what Fyfe considered to be 'true love'. This was something he wanted to keep forever.
'I... I never knew I could trust someone like you.'
But a few weeks after his 12th birthday, he had gotten a letter. It was from a princess... Princess Raiuu of the Kingdom of Stars. He had heard this day would come. He regretted this day.
'... Aurtorius... no matter what happens, no one can replace you.' He feared Aurtorius would feel used, but was reassured.
'My Prince... I'll always be happy, just as long as I can be by your side.'
Soon, the princess had arrived. It was that time... time to meet her. He arranged to meet her in the common guest waiting room.
'Ahh... hello, Princess. I am Prince Fyfe. It's a pleasure to meet you.' He said to her as he walked in. He was soon greeted by high pitched squeals and a tight hug.
'Waahhh~ You are so cute! Cuter than I even imagined!' She shouted. In the second she started trotting over to him, he already knew what she was like.
Stuck-up. Needy. Whiny. Everything he hated about the princess' he'd heard about...
Oh... how he wished he could stay with his knight. His knight in shining armor.
'... I'll make this engagement work... for my kingdom. Even if it hurts.'
