You tilt your head curiously. "Strange and ghastly things?" you ask. "Yes!" he answered sharply, "as you can see, the land around us is dying, crops are not growing, our animals and villagers are coming down with this strange illness… And trust me the end results of that illness are not to pleasant… Your luckier if the beast just strikes you himself." he said running his fingers through the white hair sprouting from his chin. You give a slight look of disgust, "any other details you would like to give about this creature?" you ask the old guy. "Ah yes.." he answers. "It has the appearance of a black wolf.." he says. "A black wolf..?" you repeat in thought. This shouldn't be to hard then, you think to yourself as you turn to leave the safety of this now quiet village. "Wait young monster hunter.." the old man calls. "What is it old man?" you say with a slight frustrated tone as you swirl around to look at him. "Be careful… And don't get to cocky.. It is not of a creature you have face before." he says with an expression of fear. You kiss your teeth not seeming to bothered by his words of warning. "Whatever old man, ciao" you say with a headstrong smile as you turn and rush off toward the mountains. The old man watches you vanish off in the distance as he shakes his head and sighs.

You run bravely, or overly confidently through the brush of the monsters terrain taking down the weaker beasts easily with your weaponry as you make your way toward the mountains where this creature has been sighted most recently. With every moment that passes your excitement grows, but still the monster has not cross your path. Still quite a distance from the mountain you sit down for a rest and pay attention to your prized weapon of choice. "Urgh what's taking so long to find it…" you mumble to yourself, running your finger along the surface of your prized weapons edge. "Surely if this creature is as powerful as they say.. He wouldn't act cowardly and avoid me.. Would he!?" you think aloud, rather frustrated.

Moments have pass as you sharpen your weapon, looking at your reflection in the metal object. You smile checking yourself out, a cocky smile on your face as always. "Huh..?" you mutter, seeing a reflection of something else for a mere second. You sharply get up looking over your shoulder holding your body in a defensive position. "Maybe I'm just seeing things.." you say as nothing out of the ordinary was to be seen. You wipe your for head and smile walking back toward your resting place. But this is not the case. "URGH!" You suddenly cry out in pain as your forced to the floor. You feel jaws latch around your arm, piercing even through your armour. Starting to feel the warmth of your own blood. You summon the strength to lift you blade launching your arm around. Strangely it is nothing, nothing, no nothing is there. You are free. You stagger to your feet, holding your arm as you take a few frightful steps backward. Holding your weapon in front of yourself in defense as you back up toward a rock face.

Uneasy moments passed, each minuet feels like a lifetime. Your breathing has now become heavy, you constantly shift your gaze. "What is this..? S-s-surely nothing can move that fast." you mutterer hesitantly to your self, stammering slightly. You freeze in terror at the sight that emerges from the vegetation before you. A menacing grin, ear to ear it seems. And ghastly deep red eyes watching you from the protection of the darkness. Slowly this so called monster steps into view, muzzle first. Gapping jaws, showing rather sword like fangs. A potent red liquid seeping from between each tooth in its ghastly smile. Yes this creature had the appearance of a wolf, yet the old man didn't give you the details of his stature. Ruby red eyes now locked onto its target, you.

You force yourself close to the rock face, as close as you could get as you watch the canine closely. The creature steps closer, sizing you up. You are not prepared from what is to happen next. What happened to the fearlessness you had human.. spoke a rather harsh poisonous voice. Your skins colour seems to vanish instantly. "D-d-did you just speak to me?" you ask fearfully. The canine smirks, his tail slapped the air excitedly. Oh yes… I think I did he answers, some of the liquid dripping to the ground beneath the monsters feet. The ground seemed to crack and die as this liquid seeped into the earth. You watch in disbelief. "Please don't kill me, I'll do anything!" you start to plead. The canines ears raised curiously,Didn't you come here specifically to end my life? he asked with a grin. You give an untrusting nod of the head, as your voice seems to have been stolen away from you.Well.. What are you waiting for human? he said encouraging you to make the first move. You take unsure steps forward readying yourself for battle.

You have fell for this beasts trick, as you lift your weapon. He seems to vanish, as you had a sharp pain around your chest cavity. Jaws pressing down, locked. "ARGH" You scream out in pain as you fall to your knees. The canine throws you to the side, no effort seems to be needed. "Hmph..." you manage to mutter rolling onto your blood covered front, slowly pulling yourself to your knees, hand pushed against the ground keeping you steady. The canine seemed to have halted his assault, that grin still spread on its features. "Are you not going to finish me off?" you ask, wiping the blood away from your lips.No. was his answer. "Why..?" you ask helplessly.Because you will suffer the fate many others have. he said licking the liquid from around his mouth slowly giving a pleasured smirk. Your thoughts drifted back to the old mans words, as your eyes grow wide.
