"You will stop this nonsense with the Republicans this instant! I will not have a conspirator living under my roof!" Her father bellowed, slamming his fist against what Dalia assumed was his desk.

Dalia pressed her ear against the door attempting to hear what her parents were yelling at her brother for. She had heard a rumor that while he was away at University he had gotten wrapped up in the Revolution planning and her father was less than pleased about it.

"The people must govern themselves, Papa!" Her brother yelled back. "Remember how awful peoples lives were under the last French monarch?"

"This school has filled your head with nonsense, Matthieu!" Her father spoke again and Dalia could hear the anger in his voice. "You're going to get yourself killed!" This time it was her mother who spoke. Her mothers voice was frail and shaky sounding, as if she had stopped crying long enough to add her own two cents.

"Get back here!" Her father yelled and Dalia had only a moment to jump back from the door before Matthieu flung the door open and marched angrily from his fathers office.

"Matthieu!" Dalia called after him. blah blah blah word vomit
