Sisky:slovakian| Another name for a homemade doughnut

The Sisky

A long long time ago in a small home on a hill an elderly couple lived alone. Thomas asked his wife Sara for a sisky. She points out that times are rough and she has no money to afford the flour to make this delicious treat. However Sara, being the resourceful woman she is approached her pantries and dusts the shelves for flour. She manages to luckily dust off enough to make one Jam Donut. She is so proud of herself and sets it on the windowsill to let it cool. Well, this donut made of love that it is comes to life. As if starts looking around he decides he wants to escape into the world. Rolling off of the sill he meets a few animals: Rabbit, Wolf, and Bear, all of them wish to eat him. Surprisingly he is faster and escapes unharmed. That is until, he meets Clever Fox and meets his end. Of course back in the house Thomas and Sara are very upset, their sweet donut has gone missing! Well, Sara makes her way to the mill and asks the miller if he would spare her some flour. The miller as kind hearted as he was spares the grandma some flour. Happy Ending :) Thomas got his sweet breakfast, and the fox got to eat.

Homemade Donuts Recipe
1.Dissolve the yeast in a little bit of warm water or milk, then combine all ingrediants except for the jam to the yeast.
2. Mix for about 15 mins, making sure to fold until dough becomes smooth and no longer sticks to the wooden spoon.
3. Dust with flower, cover with a cloth, and let rise overnight.
4. Roll the doll until it is about half inch thick, then dust a shot glass with flower. This will be your cutting tool.
5.Cut an even amount for both the top and bottom, add jam to the bottom piece as much as you wish.
6. Cover the bottom piece with the top piece carefully, make sure you seal it completely.
7. Put oil in a pan and fry them until golden brown.
8. Sift powdered sugar on top for a delicious treat :)
