Name: Miles Carfield
Age: 26
Sex: Male
Preference: Male
Species: Unliving
History: Ostracized from his family, Miles lived in Centropolis with his lover Hayden Isleswell from the time he was 15 until shortly after he turned 18. Before his 17th birthday, an epidemic ravaged through Subeta, a virus whose several different strains were very potent. The virus had an unforseen side effect that the doctors hadn't realized was possible, those that were infected but didn't die were changed.
Just after his 18th birthday, Miles contracted the virus during its second year. For some their skin fell off, for others they got sores or scales that took over their entire body; for those like Miles, their skin changed to a greenish gray color and rotted partially, allowing a rare butterfly known as a "blood-drop butterfly" that ate rotting tissue to nest in their body. This virus strain was called butterfly-bruise in respect to the bruise like discoloration of the skin where the butterflies were invited to nest. The butterflies are drawn to him as a host.
Ironically Miles' bruise had started in the shape of a butterfly. It was due to the butterflies that Miles' skin didn't completely rot away like some others; once the virus had finally died, the butterflies ate away the decomposing flesh and thus maintained the wound enough so his body could regenerate fast enough to counteract the degeneration.
Until the year that Miles contracted the disease, the Unliving had been keeping mainly to the graveyards, there weren't many that had not been cured, unfortunately the second year of the disease was more contagious than the first. This caused a severe increase in the number of Unliving and another race that Subetans had seemingly forgotten about, the Zombies, became restless. Subetan police forces were soon overrun and found themselves unable to control the Zombies and Unliving, which were at this point considered one in the same. A quarantine was put into effect, restricting the Zombies and Unliving to Shadowglen Graveyard and placing a border control around Shadowglen to enforce the quarantine. Unliving have been known to sneak past the quarantine and make it into other parts of Subeta, they are often caught and taken back.

Other: The virus also caused Miles to lose his hair, the day that he woke up to most of his hair on his pillow was the day that Hayden killed himself. The stress from the infection and quarantine took it's toll and he left Miles a note that read "I can't take it anymore". After the cure came out, Miles refused vaccination, saying that he shouldn't have to change who he is. Miles wears wigs and latex to hide the effects of his virus. He also has a pet Fauxull named Charlie and lives in a home he made from a mausoleum.
He sided with Skitters in the 2012 forced infection and is an Unliving equality activist, he doesn't feel that lashing out at humans is the way to gain zombie rights but instead feels that the unliving community should put their best foot forward and set an example. He is currently in a relationship with a non-infected named
Tristan Rainbeau and runs a
small shop at the edge of Shadow Glen Woods.
