I still remember the day when the spell was put over the castle where I resided. It was a cold, snowy, winter night when an old woman came to the door. She wanted a place to stay for the night in exchange for a single rose, but was turned away several times by the Master of our house. When she showed our Master that she was actually a beautiful woman instead of an old woman, our Master tried to get her to stay and accept his apology. She refused, putting a spell over everyone who lived in the castle, turning our Master into a hideous beast and us into household objects. Our Master was miserable, upset and disgraced by his new appearance. All of us, the servants, stayed quiet, trying to run the house like normal.

Before the castle was put under the Enchantress's spell, my job was to light the candles, each and every one of them. The servants called me a 'Monkey' since I seemed to be able to climb up almost anything, sometimes without the help of a ladder. The chandeliers were my favorite thing to light, so many candles sending light reflecting through the crystals and bouncing off all the walls. When I wasn't cleaning the chandeliers and lighting candles, I spent my free time tinkering and building small items. The first thing I ever built that worked was a small butterfly-like contraption. It was so delicate that I had to monitor it's flight path so I could catch it when the crank gave out. I was slowly working on a mechanical monkey like creature, to help me in my daily chores.

When the spell was put on our castle, I never thought that I would become my contraption. I looked strange and startled everyone when I first made my appearance. I hid myself from the others, working quickly to get my chores done, although everyone knew when I was around. I squeaked and clanked terribly when I moved any faster than a walk, and occasionally I would expel a black cloud of smoke. Years passed slowly, and I found ways to 'fix' my new body. Replacing parts and making myself a bit quieter. I was trying to figure out a better source of power, other than using fire and wood. Using fire was dangerous and was hard to get started on damp days. Not to mention that I couldn't go out in the rain.

As the years passed, we began to think no one would break the spell over our castle. We started to get worried, our Master was getting older, and closer to is 21st birthday. Just when we started to give up, a girl appeared at our castle. She was looking for her father, who had stumbled upon our castle only the day before. She demanded that her father be let go, and she would stay in his place.

The whole house welcomed this new girl into our home, even if our Master didn't. When she refused to eat with him, he forced her to stay in her room until she decided to eat with him. She snuck out later that night, and found her way to the kitchen. All the servants made her a massive feast and welcomed her with a song and dance. I watched quietly from the rafters, my eyes adjusting as quickly as the could to the dancing and bright colors. I didn't want to scare the new girl away before the Master got used to having her around.

Having this girl around the house started to change everyone. All of the servants seemed happier, our Master slowly started to warm up to her, and even I liked having her around. She caught me one night as I swung happily from candelabra to candelabra, lighting all the candles. She wasn't afraid of my strange mechanical body and actually wanted to talk to me. After talking to her for a little while, I knew that she would be perfect for our Master.

As the months passed, the girl started to get our Master to open up to her. His personality was changing bit by bit, back to what it was before he was transformed. One night, we decided to set up a party for them. I was in charge of lighting the massive ballroom. I made sure that the lighting was perfect, casting a romantic glow over the whole room. The night went splendidly, until Master let her look into his magic mirror. She asked to see her father, and when she saw he was lost in the forest her heart broke. Our Master didn't want to see her so upset, so he let her go. He told her that her sentence was up and that she was free to go. She left right away and our Master was heartbroken.

Little did we know that when she left her town to come stay with us, a scorned lover was making plans to come kill our Master. Her father had told townspeople that a hideous beast had taken his daughter captive and he needed help to bring her back. A man that she had scorned decided he was going to kill the beast and make her marry him, otherwise her father would be sent to a mad house. He brought a mob of townspeople to the front of our castle door and started to break it down. All of us servants tried to hold them back, but instead we decided to let them in and surprise them with an attack.

When they finally managed to bring the door down, we waited quietly inside, looking like common household items, the townspeople walked right past us. When a Candelabra announced it was time to attack, we sprung to life, scaring many of the villagers. The battle was difficult, but we managed to get them to leave. The only one we missed was the one who went by Gaston. He made his way up to challenge our Master, finding him sad and alone in the West Wing. Our Master didn't want to fight him, he just wanted to be left alone, but Gaston refused and attacked him anyway. As Gaston and our Master fought, she was on her way back. She knew she needed to stop Gaston and help our Master. She arrived just in the nick of time, just as our Master was dangling Gaston over a ledge, she called out to our Master. He was so happy to see her that he let Gaston go and climbed up to her, a look of utter happiness in his eyes.

She was happy to see him as well, and when he got up to her, she held on to one of his massive paws. Gaston, in a fit of jealously, climbed up after our Master and stabbed him in the side. As our Master reared back in pain, Gaston's grip slipped and he fell off the roof to his death. She grabbed our Master, pulling him onto the West Wing's balcony.

As our Master lay dying, he whispered his final words to her. He told her he was glad to have her back, even though he was dying he was glad to see her one last time. Tears ran down her face as she whispered that she loved him as the last petal fell from his magic rose. We watched in sadness, thinking it was too late and that we would be stuck like this forever.

Suddenly, fireworks appeared and our Master's body lifted magically off the ground. We we stunned as he transformed before our eyes. When he landed on the ground, he was back to his human self. We stared with wide eyes, unsure if it was a dream or not. She stared at him as he told her that it was really and truly him. It took her a minute to figure out that it was him, and they embraced one other in true loves kiss.

As we ran out to congratulate them, we transformed back into our original selves. Everything was back to normal again and we couldn't be happier. We threw a massive ball to celebrate the return of our Master and his marriage to his new wife, who's name was Belle. Finally we could live happily ever after.
